The Crossings Golf Club
Played On 11/14/2022Playable layout
This fun, linksy course is welcome break from your typical tree-lined, parkland course. The course conditions are good, being consistent with the time of year and cost to play.
Pace of play on the day I played was irrelevant, because it was cold and there was only about 4 groups on the whole course.
I definitely recommend this course to anyone of any skill level. I am a scratch golfer, and played with two 100+ shooters, and we all had great fun.

Played On 11/14/2016Great layout
This course has a great layout, every hole is interesting. Premium on accuracy. Condition was decent, but what you would expect for November in New England. Very slow, only due to the group in front of us, who held us up from the first tee, and would not let us through. Course staff was second-to-none. We paid a little extra for the Golf Boards, and it was worth every penny! Awesome experience all around! A little pricey, but worth it for the a special round from time to time.

Played On 12/03/2015Great course, a top public course
A great course, in excellent shape. Very interesting layout, gives you something new with each hole. I played with a very cheap online tee time. Also, I notice a lot of complaints about pace, but I played on a 43 degree day, so there were only 3 people on the whole course! Anyway, I heartily recommend this course, and I will play again next time I'm in the area.
Gatlinburg Golf Course
Played On 11/08/2015Excellent fun, great value
Golf course is in excellent shape. Played as a twosome, first time on the course. Got a great deal on golfnow. A lot of elevation change. If you struggle with awkward lies and uphill/downhill shots, this will be a tough course. Course played difficult, but very fair. Will certainly play again.
Miami Shores Golf Club
Played On 08/13/2015Wide open course.
Cost $20 to walk 18, which seems a little steep for a mediocre course. The greens rolled fairly true, but some of the pin positions were questionable. It was very dry on the day I played and some areas of the rough and fairway were pretty baked out. Slow pace of play and nobody seemed interested in letting a single play through.
That being said, the course is pretty wide open and completely flat. I would probably only play if I got a deal on the price, as there are nicer courser in the area.
Piqua Country Club
Played On 08/07/2015Awesome course!
I love this course! I live out of state and play with a member when I visit family in the area. My favorite course in the Miami Valley, just because it is always in pristine condition. I've heard people use that word about public courses in the area, and it is not true, but this place is always immaculate! Pete, the superintendent, keeps this place perfect at all times. Bentgrass greens that roll better than anywhere else I play, including my own country club. I believe it is bentgrass everywhere, so the ball will not sit up, like on Zoysia or Bermuda. Very tight fairways means you had better make good contact or you will hit it fat or thin ever time.
Anyway, if you can get on this course, it is worth the time and money. If you enjoy playing local and muni courses, and consider them 'pristine,' then don't play here. It will change your whole perspective of the word, and you won't want to play anywhere else!
