A Fun Round of Golf

This course is a lot of fun to play. We played on a day when there were few people out; in fact, we didn't see another person playing. There is plenty of trouble to find (water) which makes it more interesting. We look forward to playing again.

It is what it is!

Anyone who says this course is the worst they have seen it obviously hasn't played there in several years. The course is, in fact, in the best shape it has been for the last three or four albeit not perfect. However, the greens are in great shape (they are a little slow) and so are the fairways. What more can you want. Pace of play is normally very good but no matter where you play, or what you pay, if you get behind a slow foursome it's frustrating. Yes, the bridges are in bad shape - just drive carefully over them. Correct, the clubhouse is not open right now and it helps to know that before you arrive at the course. The golf shop has a cooler with drinks, snacks, beer and wine. Most of the staff couldn't be nicer. The cart staff really try and are very helpful. I got a hot deal so value for money was excellent but if you pay the posted rate then it may not be considered so but in my opinion all of the courses in Palm Springs are too expensive for me, as a local, at this time of year.

There Is A Drought

I'm happy to see this course is improving - although slowly. The greens are much, much better and I can live with dry tee boxes (after all you can tee it up). I payed particular attention to the bridges and found them to be perfectly safe although a little rough but if you don't drive over them as fast as the cart will go you shouldn't have a problem. Even with a weak back! Given the severe drought in California we perhaps can expect to see conditions more like this at other courses. Too bad for the 'snowbirds' but that's just the way it is. Learn to love it.

Happy to Have You Back

After several months of closure this course is under new management and we are so happy to see it back. OK, it's not in the best condition yet as it is still a work in progress but being that it's close to the center of Palm Springs and priced way below other courses at this time of year so that makes it a great choice for those of us NOT here on vacation and willing to spend whatever it takes for a round of golf. I encourage you to give this place a try and enjoy it for the pace of play, ease of getting a tee time and convenience of location. I intend to.

Respect Your Course Conditions!

This course, at this time, is in great condition. I have read many of the reviews and from my own experience following several groups of men around this course how can one complain about greens or fairway conditions when so many players walk away from their divots, un-raked bunkers, ball marks on greens and drive carts within inches of the greens, tee boxes and bunkers. I guess my comments are not so much about the course, which is one of the best, as they are the selfish players - did I mention the unwillingness of guys to wave two lady golfers through who are playing MUCH faster? The only good thing about the slow pace is that it gives me a chance to fix all of the ball marks and divots and rake content bunkers after those who play ahead!! Come on guys, how can you walk onto a green and past that huge ball mark you made. Fix it instead of admiring your perfect shot! Also, in order to maintain this course in perfect condition, the greens have to be punched and top dressed, the fairways must be punched and over seeded in the fall so that you, and the snowbirds, can have a great golf experience. That goes for work crews on the course - it's not all about you!

Rude Club Members!

I played this course last year with the same partners as this time. On both occasions we experienced the rudeness of club members - and I mean VERY RUDE. Bad language directed at us and despite an apology for our mistake - still rude (we parked our cart in the wrong spot off the green but having played this course only once before, we were unaware that further along the path there is a direction to 'park here'). I understand this used to be a private country club but it's not now - you obviously need the revenue from outside play so members, get over it! The course was in nice condition but the unremarkable houses lining the fairways are way too close and a couple of the residents can also be obnoxious (perhaps the same members). There is nothing special about this course that would make it worth playing again.

Very Enjoyable Nine Holes

We were pleasantly surprised with this golf course which we had seen on golf now but never considered playing. We only had time for nine holes and this course provided everything we wanted. It's not very long but makes up with the challenge of narrow fairways, severe doglegs and need for accuracy. The greens were fast when we played. We will most certainly play here again and again. BTW the previous advice to beware of water on number nine is misleading. The water which cannot be seen until you get up to the green is ON NUMBER EIGHT! I know because my partner was in it!

Never again!

This is the second time to play this course; and the last. The wind is horrendous! A breezy day in Palm Springs is a miserable gale in desert hot springs. The course has a few things going for it. A great layout in excellent condition and great clubhouse and staff; however, the pace of play is ridiculous. The predominantly Canadian clientele (because of the ownership I suppose) are without a doubt the rudest and most lacking in golf etiquette I have met. If you have one (or more) open holes ahead of you then invite the golfers stacked up behind to play through. This is basic golf etiquette in any part of the world (Canada included). I'm really tired of the golf conditions in the Palm Springs area due to the influx of snowbirds who are ruining a great golf destination. Enough.

Course Is Coming Along Nicely

We have played this course many times over the last few years and last year saw it deteriorate terribly. In fact, it closed for a while and we worried that it would never reopen, which would have been bad for us as it's so close to home. However, we have played a few times since reopening and watched it improve in leaps and bounds. The bunkers have gone from grassed over to soft with fluffy sand and defined edges. The fairways are filled in and there is work being carried out all over the course. Yes, the tee boxes need a little help but I am sure that will also come. We are optimistic that this course will return to its best condition. Now, if everyone would replace/fill their divots, repair their ball marks on the greens and rake the bunkers after use - it would help the greenskeepers AND the golfers who follow you! Oh, and keep up the pace of play while you're at it!
