San Ignacio Golf Club
Played On 01/13/2020Best choice in Green Valley
SI is now the best course in Green Valley -- including the private courses. It is excellently maintained, well managed, fairly priced (but at the top end), and challenging but fair for the average player. Greens are very nicely manicured and roll true. Traps have good quality sand. Ponds are strategically but fairly placed altho you will lose a ball occasionally.
Tubac Golf Resort - Rancho/Otero
Played On 05/06/2019One of our favorite out-of-town courses
Course is always interesting. We play the easier 18 of the 27 holes (Anza-otaro). Fairways and greens are in excellent shape. Traps are well groomed (but numerous). We had an enjoyable day on a challenging but very playable course.
Davis-Monthan AFB General William Blanchard Course
Played On 01/15/2018Blanchard OK
This is not a difficult course; very good for duffers. It is flat and very open. Fairways and greens were very good. Greens putt fast, but a few minutes on the practice green will set you up for the real thing. There were walkers so play was a little slow but not irritatingly so. Main drawback was the procedure for getting on the base: you need a passport or birth certificate to prove citizenship, probably will stand in line to get to the service window in the welcome center, and then must wait at the base gate for an escort to pick you up and lead you in. Plan on a half-hour, at least.
Ventana Canyon - Canyon Course

Best scenic views in Tucson. Excellently maintained. Difficulty but fair layout. Staff is attentive and helpful. Restaurant was excellent for lunch. Tap beer variety was limited, however.

Course is only in fair shape. Greens are terrible but fairways are OK to good. Lots of places on the back 9 to lose golf balls, but that's the design of the course and adds to the challenge. I'll wait awhile to play again; hopefully the greens will improve.
Forty-Niner Country Club
Played On 10/19/2015Best condition in years.
49er is in the best condition in years. The new owners really care. I've always enjoyed this course and now the quality of the greens and fairways is close to excellent. The restaurant has a good variety of selections -- and the half-dish was nearly more than I could eat. Food quality and facility ambiance were excellent. The only glitch was a minor problem with our cart (always went into neutral whenever you stopped it).
We will be back even though we have an hour drive to get there.
Haven at Haven Public Golf Club
Played On 05/04/2015Haven is good
Haven is in good shape for a desert course -- fairways well grassed and greens in excellent shape. It's not as challenging as other desert courses in the area, but good conditioning make it a desirable play. Carts and clubhouse are well maintained.
Kino Springs Golf Course

As usual the greens were in excellent shape. They're fast but fair. Fairways were nicely grassed, about as good as you can expect on a desert course. Traps were well groomed. Carts were newer than the last time I played there and they worked well.
Country Club of Green Valley
Played On 12/08/2014Best course condition in Green Valley
Not the most interesting course in Green Valley to play, but is in excellent shape -- far better that any other course the public can access. Greens are near perfect, fairways are well grassed and groomed and watered enough so one can take a divot (on most other GV courses, you nearly break your wrist if you take a divot!). I'd play it again in a heartbeat!
Wow, we are so happy you enjoyed your round! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
