Stoneybrook East Golf Course
Played On 02/05/2018first round of the year (Canadian)
Enjoyed the course, and the practice range into the water. The course was in good shape. Many traps were let grow over into grass areas. Not a problem for me. the course could use raised distance markers. The staff was exceptionally friendly yet under staffed. The bar seemed sparely stocked. The grill was very limited. No beverage cart.
Hawk's Landing Golf Club
Played On 03/18/2013Intriguing layout with tricky small greens.
Played with a gentleman who had experience on the course. Sure came in handy as many blind shots with tough doglegs. The GPS was very accurate but my ball did not seem to carry as it would at a higher elevation like home. Came up short on several approach shots but my head would'nt let me drop a club. Stubborn I guess. Good green conditions and well placed traps made for a fun round that moved along well.
Providence Golf Club
Played On 3/14/2013Wide open fairways with water in play.
Very generous fairways with water making approach shots on a few holes difficult. We played mid morning and the pace of play was good in spite of the ranger being on our case throughout the back nine to pick it up. We normally play in southern Ontario and found the yardage accurate but the ball did not carry as far as at home. Closer to sea level I guess. The back nine was very much secluded in the wooded areas and very quiet. We would play again with fair pricing due to golfnow.com booking.
Falcon's Fire Golf Club
Played On 3/11/2013Generous fairways, greens need some attention.
Well trapped and excellent use of water throughout the course. Cart girl was very frequent (suited me just fine). Staff friendly and courteous. Some traps had sparce amount of sand but overall nicely designed. Pace of play was very acceptable, never pushed or not too long a wait. Would recommend the course. Booked through Golfnow.com and got a great deal of $65 plus tax for a 12:57 tee time for one.
Royal St. Cloud Golf Links - Red/White Course
Played On 2/26/2013Well placed traps, interesting rolls on the greens. Water hazards well placed.
Pace of play was good. Club rentals were a very good value. Traps had a nice layer of quality sand which made play out excellent. Fairways were generous from the tee. Yardage markers were sparce and hard to find. Greens were in great shape. Plenty of places to bail out not forcing play over water. A good value for $30 per player. Beer was also very reasonably priced. Calling in for lunch order at 8th hole was excellent feature which allowed for speedy play and no delays between nines!
