River Run Golf Links
Played On 01/19/2024In nice shape
River Run is in our regular rotation of courses in the Bradenton area and is currently in great shape. We love the design of the course - nicely challenging for any level of play. Pace of play was especially good this last outing thanks to the starter and the tee time booking schedule.
We’ll look forward to playing there again soon.
The Preserve Golf Club
Played On 01/10/2024Why Have They Stopped Caring?
Once, this course was a favourite; however, this Fall and Winter, it is in very poor shape. The tee boxes and greens are just plain old sad looking and using.
While there are plenty of snowbirds to have a one and done usage and survive, I can’t understand why they wouldn’t make an effort to take care of what was a lovely course. Hope they change their strategy or develop it.

Played On 12/18/2023Lovely Misty Creek
The fairways and greens are in pristine condition on this beautiful course. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming.
We also love the opportunity to see oodles of deer, the odd armadillo and the usual flying and crawling critters on local courses. (I’ve had to heard Sandhill cranes off fairways before, but this is the first time I’ve had to shoo deer off a fairway!!)
Book a tee time and enjoy, you won’t be sorry!

Female players should have an opportunity to use bathroom facilities on the course. It’s been years since the “it’s COVID” excuse could be rationally used. Time to reopen the on-course bathroom facilities (Jonny on the spots) for the convenience of your female players.

The fairways and greens are in nice condition this year. As always, the staff are lovely and happily accommodated our request to move up our tee-time.
Deer Run Golf Course
Played On 05/28/2023Lovely Deer Run
We love this local 12 hole course. A couple of par 5’s, some tricky par 3’s and solid par 4’s to round out the course. Greens are in very good condition and fairways are fine. Come for a round and stay for the food afterwards; you won’t be disappointed!
Byrnell Golf Club
Played On 05/27/2023Beautiful Byrnell
Played our first round at Byrnell this season this past weekend. The fairways and greens are in really great shape, the carts are cushy and the staff are, as always, friendly. And thanks to some gentlemen in front of us who welcomed us to play through, the pace of play was excellent!
Deer Run Golf Course
Played On 04/15/2023Deer Run, go for the golf and stay for the food!
Deer Run’s 12 holes are all a bit tricky one way or another. What looks like an easy par 3 can turn into something beyond 3 strokes given the tricky greens. Greens are in really good shape for Spring golf and we are always happy to play here, again and again.
Super bonus: the grill’s kitchen!! A fantastic way to wrap up your round is to hit the grill afterwards - their wings are the BEST and the staff are amazing! We play at many different courses and it is so unusual to have such outstanding and welcoming staff members.
The Preserve Golf Club
Played On 01/18/2023Spend some time and money on the course please
We love the layout and natural beauty of this course but won’t be back for the rest of the season as the course, particularly the greens as well as some of the tee boxes, is in rough shape.
Heritage Harbour Golf Club
Played On 12/04/2022It still has a ways to go
Busy as usual, but the redesigned course is not yet ready for prime time. Getting to the first hole is not well marked/signed and there isn’t a proper cart path which doesn’t help. Many of the fairways and greens were not in the kind of shape we were expecting and the redesign means you don’t go past the clubhouse at the turn (so use your free drink tickets before or after your round). In addition, they GPS systems on the carts have not been reprogrammed so they are only somewhat useful and annoying. I’m sure they’ll get there, but it still has a ways to go; so, we’ll be waiting awhile before returning.
Hi. We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Heritage Harbour Golf Club.
