Balfron Golf Club
Played On 04/04/2023Hidden Gem
This is a great course. A bit remote near the Campsie Hills in Stirlingshire, but a nice drive to get there. Took about an hour from the centre of Glasgow. Overall impressions were very positive. Course was in very good condition for the 1st week in April. Tees, fairways, greens & bunkers are well maintained. Nice open fairways, not too many trees or bushes. Although its in land it reminded me of links courses. Its a wee bit hilly but some very nice view from the higher points on the course. Its challenging but not difficult. Club house is very basic but you get a very friendly welcome. I have no hesitation in recommending this hidden gem. .

Played On 12/03/2018Great wee course even when the greens are frozen
I played early in the morning on a very cold December day. Play was off the normal tees and normal greens. Only restriction was not to hit off the fairways. This was great value at £10 and is a great wee course. Layout is good but not too challenging. Only problem was chipping onto frozen greens is a bit of a lottery - but that isn't a surprise. I'd strongly recommend this course at any time of the year if you are staying anywhere near Inverness.

Played On 10/20/2017very nice course - even in poor conditions
This is a very nice course. Fantastic value on teeoffTimes. Some of the greens on the lower sections were a bit ropey but understandable at this time of year. I'd really like to play in the Summer. It's challenging but not impossible. I'd highly recommend this course.
