Stick with your local muni

I played here about 4 years ago and I thoroughly enjoyed the course. The layout was nice and the course was in good shape. Four years later and the course conditions of the course make my local muni look like Augusts National. The bunkers were terrible, the tee boxes had very little grass and the greens need some work. I paid $79 plus tax to play and I would much rather play my local muni twice for the same price. Until the course gets some TLC I would avoid playing this course, especially at the prices they are charging. They should lower the greens fees until repairs are made but I doubt they will

Painful Round

This course could be a great place to play but I really could not recommend it to those asking if it is worth playing. Due to course renovations you start your round on the back nine. I started my round at 7:45 and the first four holes are directly into the sun. I lost three golf balls that I felt were well hit but I couldn’t see them due to the sun. I asked the staff working on the course if this was usually a problem and they stated that they switched the course around due to the sun problem. I would recommend that if you play this course, what until the renovations are complete or start your round after 9:00. After the first four holes the sun was high enough in the sky that this was no longer a problem. The main problem I had was the second time around the back nine I caught up to two groups of four that were playing extremely slow. Due to the back up I was able to meet some very nice guys that commiserated with me concerning the slow play. We did not see a ranger and the group in front of us were hitting two and three balls and barely hitting the ball 20 yards at a time. It took nearly 2 hours to play the last 5 holes of the nine. A painfully slow pace. After the round was over, I inquired in the club house about a ranger and was told that they did not have one. The painfully slow pace put a damper on what could have been a great day of golf.

We appreciate you leaving us a review, Jeffrey. The two nines were switched for exactly the reason you described as far back as 1997, but obviously with nine holes currently closed for renovations we can't help but have players tee off into the sun. As for rangers, we're understandably slow as a result of the closure and unfortunately can't justify putting a ranger on the course for 20 rounds per day. We're working hard to close out our renovations ASAP, and we hope you'll book another round with us soon to see the results of that hard work for yourself!

Needs some time

The recent torrential rain has really not treated this course fairly. Being my first time playing the course I could tell that course could be a nice track but the course conditions were showing the results of the recent rainy weather. The greens were very spotty in places and will need some time to recover. All in all the course was fun and I hope it is able to come back from the damage caused by the weather.

Hello, Jeffrey. Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. Your feedback about the course is important to us. We with the recent rain we are working to get everything up to par. We have projects ongoing to recover the fairways and greens from the water on the course. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve, and we will continue to work towards an excellent experience. Thank you for playing Clearwater. We hope to see you again soon.

Can't beat the view.

Great course and great views. Course was in good shape considering they had two days of rain prior to our tee time. As a GolfNow Hot Deal I was extremely happy with the round.

Course shows signs of neglect

I have played this course in the past and I have always been pleased by the course conditions but my most recent round was disappointing. The fairways had many bar spots and the bunkers looked like they haven't been raked in quite a long time. I am glad that I played on a "Hot Deal" because if I had paid full price I would be greatly demanded some money back. We have had adequate rain this summer it just seems the course is showing signs if neglect.

Dear Golfer,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback from your round in 2015. I am happy to report the new fairways and tees on the East look awesome. Added to this, there have been many more renovated bunkers throughout the facility. The courses look great and if you would be interested in checking it out as my guest please contact Michael @ 410-255-7764 x 9.

Will be nice in a few weeks

Course was still in pre-season shape. The greens were just aerated and sanded and the fairways were still dormant. This course rewards those that can hit the ball straight and truly punishes any wayward shot. If you have trouble hitting the ball straight at times then you will lose lots of golf balls. Bring a lot of extra balls just in case your having trouble keeping it straight on the day that you play.

Great views and good golf

Overall a nice experience. Greens were really slow but they were consistent throughout the entire course. Course was in good shape and was a pleasure to play. Would play again in the future. GPS on carts was also a great help and they also included.tips on how to play each hole. This was a great help for anyone that had not played the course before.
