Lewis River Golf Course
Played On 05/03/2023Never play again
1. Reserved, through app and no where did it state greens were aerated and sanded.
2.1st hole fairway was being flooded by an overflowing pond. (Hasn’t rained in days) I had to use a ball retriever to get my ball out of the water in the fairway.
3. We had a rainy season so I understand the crappy fairways. Hole 9 was the only decent fairway and grass.
4. Terrible conditions all around.
5. Round lasted 5 hours and 20 minutes.
Heron Lakes Golf Club - Greenback Course
Played On 09/14/2022Old rundown course
Check-in easy, staff was fast, friendly and efficient. Course is beat-up, Course maintenance seems to be at a bare minimum, good lies in the fairway were rare, hard pan, dry spots everywhere. Greens were bumpy, grainy and soggy on the surface, but firm on approach shots. Greens were inconsistent. Most bunkers were firm and wet, Front bunker on hole 8 was terrible, deep soft sand with deep foot prints. I’ll never play this course again. They get lots of play because of location, anywhere else they’d be bankrupted. Way overpriced.
Heron Lakes Golf Club - Great Blue Course
Played On 08/24/2021Overrated and overpriced,
Dirty facilities, terrible parking lot. It would be out of business if it wasn’t in Portland. Portlanders are use to their garbage filled streets and homeless camps.
Elk Ridge Golf Course
Played On 08/01/2021Overpriced, not worth the drive
I made the Tee Time using GolfNow for 10am, there were many options available. I also checked their website to make sure tee times were available. We arrive from Vancouver and the place is packed, we checked in and they said GolfNow wasn’t connected to their system and that they were double booked. My spouse came with and they have never charged us a full rate for her to ride with but not golf so, $59 for golf $40 for an old beat up cart, tax total was $106. This is more than any high end courses in the PDX area. I’m so disappointed. Not going again, not worth the drive and time.
Three Rivers Golf Course
Played On 07/11/20215 hour 45 min round
Very disappointed, I arrived 45 mins early for a 1115am tee time, by the time I left the course it was 515pm. They had a tournament and used that as an excuse for 6 hour rounds. They obviously booked rounds for the public way to early and made everyone wait while the tournament tee’d off. I drove up from Vancouver so with the drive this ended up being over an 8 hour day for a simple round of golf.
Meadow Lakes Golf Course
Played On 09/05/2020Great Course Great Value
1st time playing, 1st time in Prineville. This course is great, conditions are ideal, greens rolled well, better than any of the municipal courses in Portland.
Tri-Mountain Golf Course
Played On 08/19/2020Great Course/best Greens Public Course
This is the best course because they have the best greens of all reasonably priced public courses in the Portland/Vancouver region.
Club Green Meadows
Played On 08/18/2020Terrible Greens
Played as a guest. The greens were sanded, why would you sand the greens and overwater during peak summer playing time??????? The course isn’t any better than the worst local public courses like Greenback, Rose city, Lewis River or Glendoveer. Lots of hard pan fairways which make some of the doglegs impossible.
Heron Lakes Golf Club - Greenback Course
Played On 08/18/2020Terrible Greens
Of all the public courses in the Portland/Vancouver area this one would rank close to the bottom. Who in the middle of peak season, summer/heat wave sands their greens? Just plain stupid. Ball marks every where. They don’t care because the sheep keep paying . Their location is ideal for the densely populated area of Portland. For the price it would be better to play Tri-Mountain in Ridgefield, Wa. Greens are far superior to this dirty, dumpy course.
Three Rivers Golf Course
Played On 08/09/2020Best Public Course at reasonable Price Point
The greens are the signature part of this course, outstanding all year round. The biggest improvement they could make is to level out the tee boxes. 8 of the tee boxes are a hook lie for a Rt handed golfer. Some are severe.

Tee boxes, fairways and greens are terrible. Felt like golfing in a cow pasture.

Played On 07/13/2019Don’t play here
I’m a 7 handicap, I play in a men’s club in Vancouver and I play about 100 plus rounds at about 13 different local courses and this one is the worst. Greens are over watered, slow and bumpy, fairway grass is thin with a firm mud beneath, I hit 12 fairways and not one decent lie, my lies in the first cut were better. If you have a putt more than 5 ft it’s pure luck if you make it with all the bumps.
Indian Creek Golf Course
Played On 09/02/2018Fun course
Played this course many times and always enjoy myself. Course is difficult if your golf game is off. If you’re on, you can score.
Heron Lakes Golf Club - Greenback Course
Played On 07/09/2018They’re close to losing it
Played two weeks ago and the course played better, greens rolled a lot better. Today greens were slow and bumpy. Fairways were terrible, patches of wet dead grass with patches of thicker wet grass. Some greens half of the green was just watered and the other half was dry. Completely disappointed.
Three Rivers Golf Course
Played On 04/02/2018Disorganization
Golf here regularly during the winter, greens roll well and mud is at the minimum. Show up and the front nine was closed for aeration, no signs or no notification when the tee time was made. I drive 50 miles to play here. My alternative winter course is 30 miles closer to home which would have been my choice if I knew that nine of the holes were closed. Employees seemed confused and acted like the grounds crew does what it pleases without coordination with the rest of the staff.
Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club - Ghost Creek Course

Such a relief from public courses in Portland. This is a course that's challenging but fair. Can't wait to play again.
East at Glendoveer Golf Course
Played On 08/24/2017Typical city public course
Course is just an overall reflection of SE Portland, "a dump" if you like playing on a course where no one fixes their ball marks or rakes the bunkers, men playing without shirts, cut off jean shorts than this is your course. 5 hour rounds are the norm. Greens were bumpy and over watered, fairways were like playing on a beat up football field. A hacker delight.
I play during the week so my rounds are pretty quick. I think it goes without saying that every MUNI course attracts hacks who don't care. As maddening as it is I don't grade public courses harshly for what is a given. But again I play in the non peak hours so that probably tempers my criticism.

Great winter course, best in the Area.
Heron Lakes Golf Club - Great Blue Course
Played On 07/11/2016Dbleagle
Greens are bumpy and inconsistent. Green side bunkers didn't have much sand. Pace of play was slow. A group of five were in front of us, they had a money game going with 3 carts, they were extremely slow and very loud and obnoxious. This was a hot deal on golf now $17.

Greens roll great, Course needs to work on pace of play.
