Baytowne at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort
Played On 02/25/2018Nice Course
My husband played from the white tees and found it a nice distance. I appreciated the break given to the women on the red tees. Perfect for my game! The fairway on 13 needs lots of work. It's in very poor shape. The rest of the course plays well.

Played On 02/18/2018Nice Course
This is a very nice course. Since we played in February, the fairways lack a lot of grass, but for a city course it is cared for quite well. There are a few holes that are very challenging that require you to navigate water. If you don't position your approach shot correctly the ball rolls right into the creek. There are a number of holes that make it possible to par or bogey, if you are on your game.

I don't know what the normal rates are, but $40 seems like an appropriate price for this course. Fairways are brown and there is little grass, but that is typical for this time of year. The course is laid out nicely, but you wouldn't want to walk it.

Played On 02/27/2017Lots of Water and Sand
Played from the white tees and it still took a little over four hours, which is a little slow. Good mix of open and tight holes. Length from white tees was appropriate for seniors.
Shalimar Pointe Golf Club
Played On 02/23/2017Slow Play
Course was fair but there was a five-some two groups ahead of us that destroyed the flow of play. Had to wait on every tee. Course was very sandy--even on fairway.
Eglin AFB Golf Course - Falcon
Played On 02/14/2017Lost Some Balls
Scenic course with lots of hills. Nice variety of holes. Gold tees are a little long for seniors; silver are a little short. Fairly well manicured for February play in Florida.

Course has some tight holes and some hidden water. Challenging for all levels of golfers. Much shorter course for women--lots of breaks for them.
Oaks at Ft. Walton Beach Golf Club
Played On 02/06/2017Great Deal!
For a Florida golf course, the fairways were wide enough to forgive a bad shot--unlike so many. Course allowed a five-some. They did let us through. If not, play would have been extremely slow. Course was in pretty good shape for a public facility in February.

This was our first round since the fall golf season in Illinois. The course was enjoyable for first-time play--challenging but not too difficult. Unfortunately, we are staying on the ocean side of the Panhandle so were subjected to a $4 bridge toll each way to the course and back again.

Challenging but fair. Too many doglegs. Scenic with good views of interesting aircraft.
The Golf Club at North Hampton
Played On 02/14/2014Not for the faint of heart!
Many fairways too tight to suit the average player's game. Bunkers well positioned, and swales in the green areas made play more difficult. Beautiful layout but not recommended for a walker.
Mr. Keffer,
Thanks for playing Shalimar yesterday and giving the review. The pace problem regrettably was not the five-some yesterday, it was the four foursomes in a row that were all slow. I'm sorry our efforts to speed them up were largely unsuccessful. That many in a row is a near death sentence for any courses' pace. I was able to buy some folks a drink and provide a couple of rain checks for another for the inconvenience and I would happily do the same for you given the chance? Please call and let me know. Thanks again for playing with us.
