Rhodes Ranch Country Club
Played On 11/05/2018Efficient operation, friendly staff and playable course
Everything great from the pro shop to the starter were very friendly and efficient . A single starter, a young man who was able to log in incoming golfers, giving each a small bucket of balls and cart key all by himself very quickly and orderly.
Course is very forgiving despite a number of holes with water hazards. Greens are slightly slow. Course was in excellent condition.
The only blimish was that visitors have to go through a manned security gate which had more to do with the housing community than the golf course.
Desperado/Diablo at Badlands Golf Club
Played On 05/04/2015Challenging course but enchanting desert landscape
Parking area very close to bag drop area thus very friendly to first time visitors. . You can walk to the bad drop area asking for help if the bag drop attendant is not driving around in the parking area.
Pro-shop personnel and starter are very friendly.
There are three 9-hole courses. Both the Diablo and the Desperado are not for beginners. The Outlaw course is somewhat friendlier. Some holes require to carry not one but two hazards (barranca and /or water), I played with three possibly single digit handicap players on the blue tee, and all lost balls. None of us mind because the the desert landscape is so unique and beautiful with the mountain in the distance and thunder cloud overhead. It can be enjoyed if you choose your tee box wisely.
The fairways are in excellent condition. Greens are relatively slow.
When finished your round, the friendly attendant would clean your clubs, drive you to your car and help you loading your bag.
The green fee which includes a bucket of balls for warming up is reasonable especially for local residents.
