I play this course about once per month. It has a nice layout and is typically in good condition with a nice pace of play.

Played it on Super Bowl Sunday 2022 and it seemed to be an off day. Not sure if this was a staffing issue or due to distractions caused by the WM Phoenix Open and some big football game.

The greens were running a little faster than usual which I expected due to the rise in temperature. Not sure if they were trying to compensate by watering more but there was a lot of standing water and mud in the fairway and cart paths. More than once I had to pick up, clean and place in a spot that wasn’t so swampy.

The water must have impacted the group ahead of us because they had one person walking. Between navigating the wet spots and putting in every single ball they had us backed up. Felt bad for the group behind us too but there was nothing we could do to speed it up.

Also, we heard the beverage cart employee had been relieved of her duties so there wasn’t any cart service.

I’m sure things will be better next round.
