Mirimichi Golf Course
Played On 04/21/2018Bad course conditions
A truly great layout but the conditions were pretty bad -- greens were good...but fairways were dead and hard-pan --- dust kicks up when the ball hits; couldn't get a good lie anywhere in a fairway and we played on 4/21 and it cost $85. Wait for rain and a lot of greening up before spending that kind of $ to play here.
Cherokee Run Golf Club
Played On 09/26/2017One of the best layouts
The Run is in perfect shape, zoysia fairways like carpet and greens running true and fast; best to not have any putts above the hole! Great layout that lets you grip it and rip it on some holes while other holes will make you play target golf and check down to irons off of tees. This course will punish you for bad shots and can play very difficult -- I believe that would be the only complaint that folks would have is that a difficult course can cause some slow play with higher handicappers. If you haven't played this course, it's worth the trip - the staff is always friendly and helpful as well.
Ashton Hills Golf Club
Played On 06/08/2014Great course tainted by a 6 hour pace of play
Yep, that's right folks, we teed off at 130, apparently playing behind the last 4 some of a best ball tourney (not lauderdale) --- and it was beyond painful to play the longest round of golf I've ever been a part of. SIX HOURS. The couse staff did nothing to speed the hacks up in front of us who were awful but acting like they were scratch golfers. Course in great shape from tee to green but it's too bad the staff didn't care about the pace of play.

The new mini verde greens at Cherokee Run are AWESOME. Course is in great shape from tee to green -- zoysia fairways give perfect lies and the course punishes you for bad shots -- as the scorecard says, holes 15-18 are known as the Trail of Tears and it's a good assessment.
