Lakes/Dolphin Golf Course at Cocoa Beach Country Club
Played On 03/22/2019Good greens but little else
Beautiful sunny day and smooth greens running about 10 on the stemp. What could be better you say? The rest of the golf course. Fairways thin and weedy. Tee boxes bare and rutted. Cart ruts everywhere. The 3 nines do get tons of play, but that should lead to plenty of revenue for maintenance. I guess they spent some $ on the greens, as they were full of grass, smooth, fast and very true. If the rest of the course was ever brought up the same level, I would play it every day. Would have rated 2 stars without the nice putting surfaces.

Played On 03/05/2019Challenging layout. Rough around the edges.
Beautiful day for golf in Florida. 68, lite breeze with sun shine. Course played firm and fast tee to green. Greens were nice medum speed, slopy, hard to read, mostly consistent in condition. Very fair test. Fairways firm, lies mostly thin. Tee complexs we're really in poor condition from the white tees I played. Some we're rutted up and devoid of grass. That said, if I wanted plusher course conditions, I have to ante up at Suntree CC or pay $80 greens fees in Orlando. . All in all, a good value for $ spent. If you like it quiet, no intrusive housing, and a course cut through some virgin Fla brush land, which I do, then check it out. BTW, played in 2 some in 3 1/2 hours.
Lakes/Dolphin Golf Course at Cocoa Beach Country Club
Played On 03/28/2018Nice condition greens
Rest of course is in only fair condition. Fairways need water and weed removal. Tee boxes are beat up and sparse. Bunkers were well maintained. River 9 is worth playing. Tiny range, had to wait to hit.

Played On 12/29/2017Nice greens.
Rough around the edges. Heavy usage on the 3 nines. Carts are old with no amenities. Starter is a grouch.

Played On 04/12/2017greens were nice
Got around quick in a 3 threesome. Greens true and fast enough to make you think. Only one blind tee shot on the whole course. What you see is what you get.

Played On 09/02/2016Plenty of variety, scenic in spots, good greens
Crowded. Tee time were 15 minutes behind and waited most every shot. Took 4:55 to play. Friday before the holiday? Greens were in excellent shape and fast enough based on the slope of some of them.
Played the blues and it was long enough for a senior player at HDCP of 3.8. Some old style holes without the typical tract housing on each side. Scenic vista views on some elevated tees. Would play here often if closer and pace was faster. Grouchy snack bar help to get so-so food at turn didn't help the day.

Nice, user friendly planned developement course. Well maintained practice range and green. NO pretentious club house here. Friendly staff. Good mix of holes, some forced carrys over water to pins, but always a safe bail out left or right if needed. Mostly generous fairway landing areas, but some neck down if trying to bomb it. Great risk/reward gamble on #5 & #14 par 5 holes. You can score here, but it's not pitch and putt.

Played On 11/16/2015Small greens ,just don't miss
Very small targets have decent putting surfaces, but if missed the chipping is from mushy lies. Very tough to get flop wedges close to hole. Course plays longer than stated yardage due to lack off roll on fairway, which are in good shape other than being soggy in many spots. It Hadn't rained in several days prior to play, but course is built on very swampy terrain. Cart paths are concrete and in good shape. Nice gas carts and friendly staff. Aqua range had BIG gator yawning on the bank, great photo opp.

What a treat to play a course that's right there in front of you. NO crazy lumped up fairways wide enough to be driving ranges, No goofy golf moonscapes, No two acre greens, No Mc Mansions jutting into the sight lines, No island greens or hidden hazards, No cart girls in skimpy clothes. Just good holes with risk /reward on tee and approach shots, bunkers that are in play but escapable, and greens that roll true but fast enough to make you think about a downhiller. The 50's style clubhouse is a gem. I'd join if it was still private..
Minerva Lake Golf Course
Played On 06/17/2014Better than expected
Good mix of easy and hard holes, drivable par 4's but 245 yard par 3 and lay up par 4's with 170 shots for the second over ravines. Much better conditioned fairways and rough than expected. Greens are slowish but smooth and grassy. Ball will hold on good shots. Your HDCP will go up as course rating and slope are low and birdies are tough to come by. Play it if you want to know what courses used to be like, no McMansions on every fairway. 3 1/2 hour round a bonus.

Played On 6/27/2013Straight foward course, in great condition
No tricked up holes, it's all right in front of you. Course played longer than stated yardage. Greens have some slopes but no goofy tiers and dead elephants. Beautiful club house, didn't check it out thought.
The Savannahs Golf Course
Played On 4/9/2013good greens, a shot makers course
Good variety of green shapes, on the small side, size wise. A shot makers course with the normal Fla. trouble right and left. Very nice water range, with warm up balls provided free with green fee. Large praqctice green.
Indian River Preserve Golf Club
Played On 1/02/2013greens are sparce and bumpy. Fairway good.
Greens need work. Practice area has nice tee but lacks good targets. Chipping green is small. 19 th hole is a 75 yard shot, very cute. A very nice layout and some interesting second shot required.
