The only gripe I have about this course is that there is no Ranger out there. Be prepared for a 5+ hour round if you go out later than 9am

Started about 1.5 hours late due to frost. But, what can you do? Always fun to play here!

Course sustained heavy damage from Hurricane Ida, so their support from all golfers is needed. But overall glad they are open.

Play the club and then the valley. I know now why the valley is always available because it’s very difficult and very challenging. We will be playing here again

Greens were in decent shape, but they really need enforce fixing the ball marks on them. Like putting through a mine field. Bunkers were like cement! Send someone out to rake them in the AM. The fairways were in dire need of a trim, but it’s been so hot n dry that they probably haven’t grown much before today. Also, the tee boxes are a disgrace. Uneven and all chopped and chewed up from the last 2 weeks + of use. Like this course for the value and location, but come in guys. You’ve put in so much effort to fix the ponds on the 6 and 7th hole, other areas of the course, and general maintenance, are lacking.

So I booked though the GolfNow app to play the Blue White course, only to find that there was a golf outing and had to play Blue to Red. Only played nine on the blue as I was walking and the whole purpose of playing the Blue White was to avoid the big hill. D- to Flanders Valley.

Haven’t played here in 14 years in the course is in great shape but I wasn’t happy because I signed up to play the blue white course and upon arriving was told you can play blue but you have to play the gold up the hill so not happy about that and not happy about finding this out when I got to the course so boo to Flanders Valley I’ll go back but wasn’t happy with this outing

Played here back in May on the first day they allowed 4 to play together. My review was a C+ due to the conditions of the course - lots of over growth, aerated greens, several halfway done maintenance projects. But as I said in that review, the staff was limited, but the course was challenging due to water hazards and layout. Today, it was in very good shape; tall grasses have been cut, the greens were in excellent shape and didn’t give up anything. The work continues to open it up more with the removal of trees and several oaks along the course being canopied, especially along the back line. Mainly the 15, 16, and 5th holes. They still need to mark it better, and in this I mean which way to the next hole. If you haven’t played here before, you’d come off the first tee and likely got to the third hole tee box and miss the short par 3 hole 2, so please work on this. Also, some enforcement of fixing ball marks on the greens; I fixed several before putting, and this slows down pace of play. It’s been dry, so you get some extra bounce and roll, which, helps on some holes, but hurts on others. Overall rating this outing, A-. Looking forward to returning soon.

Drove past the place a few years back and decided to give her a go. The course is in ok shape; I’m sure they’ve had a hard time as all courses have been closed due to Covid. So, that being said, they need to do a lot of cutting, but again, they’ve been closed so I will give them this one, plus, they are most likely understaffed. Course is challenging; they’ve let areas grow over to give it a bit of a links course feel on some of the holes, almost like fescue. There is water in one form or another on most of the holes, and some of it you really can’t even see, so you need to be careful. I play conservative, so it wasn’t much of a problem for me. I did put one in the drink off the 6 tee. The course was also VERY dry, so I collected a lot of extra yardage. The greens had been aerated, I’d say about 3 weeks ago, so they were bumpy, fast, and didn’t yield much, so you had to try and be as precise as you could putting.
Also, they’ve reconfigured the course, but I can’t tell you if that’s a good or bad thing because, again, first time here. They need more signage to tell you which way to go to get to the next hole. They are doing work; tree cutting, sand trap maintenance, and drainage in a bunch of areas as it sits not far from the Passaic River. The price was right to; $26 to walk. I booked through Golf Now.
