My Take

I joined this NCGA club after driving up and talking with the GM. I wanted a place where I could walk nine holes. Since this place has 3 nine holes courses this seemed perfect. The GM told me there was a 9 hole rate so I joined. Upon my next visit, I went into check-in and walk 9 holes. When I asked for a walking 9 hole time I was told by the Pro that no such thing is offered. I told him I was assured by the GM when I joined that there was. He response was a bit condescending implying that I might be lying. So long story short, this is not a place to play nine unless you are willing to pay full price for nine holes.
All that being said, this course has a very good grass driving range. A large putting green. I fairly good bunker practice area. It also has a small chipping area behind the putting green.
There is almost always a wind blowing at this course so it can be a great challenge for your game. When the wind is down this course really shines! Consistent greens from hole to hole and nine to nine. Good bunkering that can be a challenge to avoid and make you think your way around the course.

The pace of play can be good if people play from their proper tee markers, no way to police that it's just the nature of the beast.

The food at the turn is nothing special, the usual sandwiches and hot dog variety. Nice patio for after play to wind down and go over your scorecard (personal gripe is $11.00 for a 4 oz pour of not so good wine, get a pint of beer instead). The service can be spotty in the clubhouse but that is to be expected at a golf course, after all, it is not their main focus. The golf is.
I personally like the Merlot side the best, it's a good mix of holes. Buy a "birdie" yardage book if you are going to play the course often, it will help where to hit the ball for the best approach to the greens. No real gimmicky holes on this course, unlike Wente.

So, it is a nice course and worth the drive when the wind is down. Or for a nice challenge when the wind is up.

I just wish there was a nine-hole walking rate.

Coyote Creek Tournament Course

Great "Hot Deal" price. The greens were plugged and sanded, that was not reflected by an Icon indication, so putting was a challenge. Nice layout and they had just finished putting new sand in the bunkers. The Tee boxes were a little fuzzy, but that is nit-picking. Carts have GPS and are fairly quick.

I will say this, this course has one of the nicest short game area I have seen without it being a private facility. If nothing else go spend a couple hours working on your short game. Long pitches, short chipping, bunker work, this place has it all!

Soboba Springs

From Tee boxes to greens, great conditions. Staff is friendly and polite. Four sets of tee boxes from 5826 Yards all the way back to 7204 so you can play the appropriate tee box to your handicap. Nice grass range, putting green could use a few more holes to put to. If there are more than 4 people putting it can get a little crowded.

Just to let everyone know this is a very walkable course, maybe one long hill to climb.

( word is they will plug and sand the green soon)

Legends Side

A nice track with the need to hit shots left and right. The difference on line of sight from the Black Tees to the Blues Tees can be bit dramatic so chose wisely. The Fairways need attention, from soggy to burnt out, they need to manage their water better. The greens were fast, hard and true. The rough is thick and the bunkers deep, there is a premium to keeping the ball in the short green and manage your misses.

Nice club house and the staff was friendly enough, nothing over the top. This is my second time playing here, a month apart and the same light has been out in the back nine restroom building, come on guys buy a light bulb. The grounds crew, for the most part, were very aware of players and shut off machines and wait until you are done to resume work.

Off season, so it was hot

My Wife and I played yesterday and it was very hot by the time we finished. There was little to no wind so the bugs were an issue. There could have been better signage to get us around the course. Fairways were spotty in places, some should have been marked "Ground under repair", the greens was in very good shape and the were hard could not get any spin on the ball. If it wasn't for the spotty fairways I would be giving the course and "maintained" rating for conditions.

Be warned they do not have an ATM on site so bring cash for snacks drinks on course. The giant water park next to the course, I felt, took away from the experience as a whole, for an Arnold Palmer course I expected a nicer finishing stretch.

Be Advised

New ownership, they now have gas carts, until they buy new ones. The fairways were spotty, the tee boxes need mowing, and the greens are slow with alot of ball marks. Someone wearing soft spikes really drug their feet and spun their heals on the greens and really marked them up, especially near the hole. Easy enough to walk, with a push cart. The back nine is better than the front as far as layout and views. Driving range was good, putting green in small but okay, did not see a chipping area. Saw the cart person once, plenty of water jugs on course.

Fairways need attention

Granted I got a screaming deal on Golfnow, but still the fairways were spoty at best. The greens were nice and fairly fast. But of course there are ball marks left by sub humans, hate that junk.

Chipping and putting areas are nice and the driving range had the grass open so that was a plus. Snack Bar was closed in the middle of the afternoon so no quick bite on the turn.

Not a lot of walkers, sad it is not that hard of a course to walk maybe two good hils to climb but that's it.

If it wasn't for the deal I am not sure I would play it everyday. But for a local track I would tell people about it.

Great a Desert Course

The course was in very good condition for a desert course. The Staff was nice, the starter was a great friendly guy. The one thing I would make better was the service on the turn. The were 3 ladies behind the bar and it still took 6-7 minutes to get a dog and some drinks. There were only about 10 guys in the bar area.
