Druids Glen
Played On 09/07/2017This is top 10 in Washington?
Then Washington doesn't have good golf compared to much of the country.
I can see the good. It has a textured layout. It would be pretty if it wasn't all burned out...but it was all burned out. It has a real driving range (rare in WA), but of course you are on the mats all summer.
A couple spots have great views of Rainier. The Taproom is actually excellent and the outdoor patio during the nice weather (like this was in September).
Downsides: Alternately gushy or hard and bare right in front of the greens. Broken sprinklers? Many? How does this place handle rain? Because there were wet, low spots in the fairways, too. Alongside burnt out swaths. I don't need Augusta, but i would say this went beyond reasonable natural imperfections. This was 'Needs Attention'.
Shoal Creek Golf Course
Played On 07/27/2015Neat designs of the holes
Love the designs of many of the holes. The short par 4s cause you to make risk/reward decisions. Par 5 9th is full of decisions.
Fairways were is superb condition. Greens were a bit pocked, and heavy seasonal rain was probably the reason for both.
Liberty Hills Golf Club

Hard to believe you get 18 holes AND cart for $20, but that's because this place is on life support. It isn't a terrible place - other than the double-wide trailer for a clubhouse. But the course is okay. Its in a really pretty place in the country, but it obviously gets no attention and not very much play. It'll be sad when it closes and our remaining north KC courses get slightly more crowded.
Hodge Park Golf Course
Played On 08/06/2014Never been better
I've played this course for 8 years. The zoysia conversion is complete and it was the best I've ever seen it. I played super fast, and was a little surprised when two groups didn't let me through. I went around them, and each of them had a member of the Marshalls playing with them. Hmmm. No biggie, I just want to have fun. Greens are slow but consistent. The branch on the First Tee needs to be removed. That's ridiculous. All other tees except #12 are good.
Royal Meadows Golf Course
Played On 07/25/2014Standard Park-Like
Built into a square plot of land, it feels like you are moving in a square plot. No creative features. Considering the generous rain and temperate weather this year, the grass should be in optimal condition, but its just average, with lots of weeds. The Tee Boxes are deplorable, and have been on every visit I've made over 7 years. I'll give them credit on the greens, however. Those are okay and consistent. While not prohibitive, the fee is high compared to other like-courses.
Stone Canyon Golf Club
Played On 7/02/2013Primo golf, but the human factor could improve
As much as I love the golf course, I wouldn't play it without the golfnow discount. Too many options around KC for much less. Still, its unique because of the bentgrass (instead of the usual no-roll zoysia) fairways, and some singular hole designs which I appreciate. Lovely scenery which might diminish once all the houses are built out, but that will be a while.
Clubhouse is a double-wide and its a joke for a course charging a prime rate fee. Now they are building a separate grill and bar...and its another temporary building! Come onnnnn!
The latest day I played was slooooow, and as others have said before me, I never saw a marshall in 5 hours.
Tiffany Greens Golf Club
Played On 6/27/2013One of the premiere courses in Northland
I only got to play 6 holes this time due to approaching storm and lightning. Key to note, though: The course is gorgeous to look at. Players who hit deep draws will face trouble. All the trouble is on the left throughout the course.
