Lake Tansi Resort
Played On 09/12/2022Very Unwelcoming Staff Ruins Experience
Upon arriving at the Lake Tansi golf course, we were greeted with animosity and disdain for our general lack of knowledge about the course and its patrons. The members at the course were not happy that five out of town guests were there to play.
Though the course conditions were serviceable, the course: the layout of the course is unimaginative a basic. Most municipal golf courses have more character and creativity to their holes. The greens were smaller than most dinning room tables and were slower than you could imagine.
The pace of play was extremely slow and when we asked a ranger about the pace of play we were told to slow down and just deal with it. Furthermore, after a single caught up with us we invited him to play through or join our foursome and he elected to join the group. After playing 5 persons to a hole and no one behind us, a ranger approached us. The ranger explained that a member called the club house from their home and was upset that five people were playing together. Yes, this person who called the club house was not even playing golf, this give you an idea of what the members at this course are like.
Overall, the experience at this golf course is simply bad and the staff and members are to blame. Nobody in my group is ever planning to come back and will make sure to not recommend this course to any of our golf friends.

After playing this course this past Saturday I can tell you that I will not be back after I have confirmation that they actually have playable greens. I understand that courses go through maintenance and sometimes things need repair but 15 out of 18 greens were in horrific shape and unplayable. The thing that really bugs me is that this information was not brought to our attention when we made the tee time, and we still paid full price. There was also no beverage/snack cart on a Saturday morning which is important at this course since you don't return to the club house until after the 14th hole.
Wow used to go here a couple of years ago and it was great. Now, What a shame the new owners not only have they let it go but the greens are so bad it's almost as if they try to make them dried out cracked and dead and actually have weeds on the greens. It's as if they want them to die out. what a shame this course is in such a beautiful location.

For the money, this is a great course. The pace of play was good, got 18 holes in (riding) just under 4 hours. The fairways were nice to hit from and the rough wasn't menacing. The greens were pretty big, they were a tad slow, but still in a great condition and were all well taken care of.
Was worth the 40 minute drive from Nashville, TN.
