Garland Lodge & Golf Resort - Monarch Course
Played On 06/13/2014Have to love the water
This course had a lot of water hazards, making
it challenging. The fairways and greens were well
maintained. We were probably lucky that it was a
cool and windy day because this course is cut out
of swamp land. All in all it was a very enjoyable
round of golf, would recommend it to a friend.
Looking forward to playing the other three courses
at The Garland Resort.
Hawk's Eye at Shanty Creek
Played On 05/31/2014A course that I would recomend to friends.
The course itself is very well maintained, however
I was a little disappointed in the golf carts. They
where not very smooth and seem to lack the power
to navigate the hilly course. Over all we had a pleasant outing and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Good Time!
Gaylord Golf Club
Played On 8/05/2013Excellent afternoon of golf.
For the average hacker and duffer this course is a dream.
While it challenge's the amateur, it brings out the best in the
novice. The unexpected is just over the next tee box.
Greens are fast, but true to the read and the fairways are very well maintained. The tee boxes are well marked and easy to find.
You can tell that this has been a private course for many years. They have a beautiful lounge and banquet facility.
The staff was quit kind and courteous. However the most pleasant surprise was that they deliver. If you would like a beverage or a snack anywhere on the course, all you have to do is call the club house. See you on thirteen for diner.
Jones Masterpiece at Treetops Resort
Played On 8/02/2013This probably is the most picturesque course we have ever played.
With it's panoramic views of rolling hills and woodlands,
it's easy to understand why this course is highly recommended.
The fairways are well maintained and the tee's are easy to locate.
While the staff was very polite and imformitive, we were a little
disappointed in the greens keeping. The harsh winter we had here in Nortrhern Michigan may have had something to do with it.
The stagering drop from tee to green on hole number six is
one like you will seldom see, play it carefully. The entire course
is challanging and a pleasure to play, we will be back again.
White Deer Country Club
Played On 7/3/2013This course would be great for the beginer.
Do no underestimate this course. While it appears to be laid
out quite simple, with open fairways and relatively flat greens.
It still presents a challenge to the everyday hacker. The water
hazards are strategically placed to give even the experienced
golfer fits. With anywhere from 31 to 40 sand traps, you have
plenty of opportunity to practice getting of the beach. I would
recommend this course to my friends any day.
The Valley at Wilderness Valley Golf Resort
Played On 7/2/2013This course was a pleasent challange.
My friend and I enjoyed playing this course for a number of
reasons. Located just out side of Gaylord Mi. It was only a 1/2
hour drive from our homes. With rolling fairways cut out of the woods that demanded accurate tee shots the course grabbed
our attention from the first shot. The 18 holes are laid out so
that there is no turn on 9, you just play straight out and then
enjoy the ride back. The fairways are well maintained as well
as the greens that are deceiving difficult to putt. The abundance of sand traps more than make up for the lack
of water hazards, of which only effect holes 16 and 17.
We both agreed that we would play this course again.
