Par 3 at Riverside Golf Club
Played On 06/27/2020Need better Covid 19 protocol
There was nothing to prevent the ball from falling all the way to the bottom of the cup. Had to dig the ball out of the cup that everyone else was touching.
Forest Park Golf Course - Red Bud
Played On 04/01/2018The Jewel of Metropolitan golf in St. Louis
When I get a chance to play any of the golf courses at Forest Park for a good rate I'm pleased. I usually play cheaper courses. These courses are beautifully designed and well maintained.
Bear Creek Golf Club
Played On 05/31/2015Splendor amid the Mc Mansions
At Bear Creek Wentzville you don't really feel like you're getting away from it all. This was like playing in the backyards of an upscale neighborhood of Mc Mansions. The greens left a lot to be desired. The people who frequent this course are not real good at repairing ball marks on the green. The cart girls hit you up constantly. Not bad but I don't feel compelled to return.
Normandie Golf Course
Played On 09/20/2014I LOVE Normandie
The old girl was looking splendid when I arrived in the early morning. Yes, she was rough in places and needed sand in her traps. Undulating greens were challenging. Long narrow fairways will test you. The staff is awesome. This St. Louis gem is one of the best deals around. She's close to the airport and not far from downtown or Clayton. Normandie, oldest course west of the Mississippi, is a treasure. Please fix your divots.
Belk Park Golf Course
Played On 09/06/2014I'd do it again
First time playing at Belk Park. I'd totally play there again. It's a great value and the staff is eager to make your golf experience a pleasure. The course is well maintained. However, the rough was too tall--very easy to lose errant balls. The tee boxes weren't in lousy condition. One call to the clubhouse and they will send someone out if there is an unusually slow group ahead of a lot of players. I used aBOGO thatI had earned from GolfNow. Couldn't find another player so I went there alone. It was over a half hour drive from my house in Southwest City of StL but, in retrospect, it was worth the drive and I'd go again.
Fox Creek Golf Club
Played On 07/03/2014So You Think You're Good? Try This!
This is a rather challenging course that was a lesson in humility for me. It beat me up. Still, I'm happy to have played it. A course like this offers great lessons in game management.
Huge swaths of many of the the fairways were awful. Take relief as needed. On the other hand, the sand traps and putting greens were great. Obsessive grounds crews want to water and fertilize while you're playing. That's not okay.
It was a journey to get out to this course from St. Louis. I'm glad for the experience. I'll be back!
Ruth Park Golf Club
Played On 06/13/2014Fairways and Putting Greens
When I played on Friday afternoon the putting greens were slow. Maybe the grass was ready to be cut. On the next day, Saturday, the greens seemed faster. I was paired with a group of three people, two women and a man. Two of those people were clueless about golf etiquette. The man was instructing one woman in Korean as she swung. I don't know what he was telling her but it couldn't have been good. He was clueless himself.
We apologize about your negative experience with our course. The neighborhood we sit within adds difficulty to the layout of the course, which can be exciting to some and inconvenient to others. Our cart attendants work hard to ensure that everyone is happy and well-hydrated, which can be great to golfers looking for frequent refreshments or frustrating to those uninterested in their services and wanting to focus more on their game of golf. These types of situations are hard to please different types of people. Still, we thank you for your feedback and hope you will return to give our course another shot sometime in the future. Thanks for playing at Bear Creek!
