Lonnie Poole Golf Course at North Carolina State University
Played On 06/20/2019Good course, non-existent playing partners.
Lonnie Poole is a very good course. I thought the greens were a little bit beat up, but that course does get a lot of play.
The only problem I had with the round is the no-show GolfNow people I was supposed to play with. I showed up for the appointed tee time, but the three other players (I did not know these three people) were no shows. Foursomes all over the tee sheet and I was a solo player. Fortunately, another GolfNow golfer who was stood up by his other three players was available, so the two of us waited on every shot because we were a twosome among a field of foursomes.
The Challenge Golf Club
Played On 07/11/2018Good Course layout, summertime conditions
The course is well laid out and has a lot of elevation changes. Nice variety of holes, both in layout and length. It is a strategic design and you will have to "golf your ball" to get around the course. It is not a grip and rip type course.
It's July and some of the greens are suffering, but that's to be expected in North Carolina at this time of the year.
Wendell Country Club
Played On 04/12/2018I'll Come back later in the year
Spring golf in the Carolinas is bad just about everywhere. Grass is beat up from months of play and its not warm enough for them grow back. When it's warmer I'll be back to see if the grass grew in.
Course is an old school design with lots of parallel fairways and some are quite narrow. It is a short course with no real room for lengthening.
When (and if) the grass grows in I'll come back for a second try at it.
Nearly every green on this course is unplayable as of May 20, 2018. Be warned!
Creek at Carolina Trace Country Club
Played On 11/02/2017Needed an aeration alert!
The fairways and tees were in good shape, I had the course to myself (save one threesome that let me play through), the weather was lovely but there was only one thing wrong.
Freshly aerated greens. I realize this process is necessary, but if I'm going to be paying premium dollars to play a course could we get a heads up on aeration? There was no aeration alert posted when I purchased my greens fee. Had I known the greens were freshly aerated, I wouldn't have played when I did.
Creek at Carolina Trace Country Club
Played On 05/28/2016Needs some amenities
I think this is a private club that has just recently begun to open up to daily fee players.
I played the Creek course. It's a good layout and is in wonderful shape. The traps do have a lot of Carolina river sand in them which means pebbles and rocks as well as sand. But, that's what you get in this part of the world.
A major improvement would be course documentation. Course maps and yardage books are not available. Signage is at best minimal. I was lucky enough to play with some fellows that knew the course so I didn't get lost.
I would like to go back and play this course and the Lake course.
Crooked Creek Golf Club
Played On 07/03/2015Adios Crooked Creek.
Never going to play this course again.
Of course the course will be closed forever on July 5, so it won't be available for play.
Hi, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. Regardless if they are a GolfNow customer or not, does not change the fact that people can no show to the course. We apologize that it caused slower pace of play as a result, but we hope that you were still able to enjoy your round. We look forward to seeing you in the near future.
