Lanier Golf Club
Played On 09/03/2018Good Value for the Money
The greens are in great shape given that it is the middle of summer, but the bunkers could certainly use more sand. This is not a difficult course, wish that the county would have kept it for the residents.

This is a public course in Forsyth County that underwent re-seeding of the greens last year, and the new greens appear to be a hybrid Bermuda, more tolerant of the heat. Fairways are in great shape and there's a decent amount of sand in the greenside bunkers. I'd like to see the grounds crew clean up the trees that were timbered and left lying (last year). Pace of play was right at 4 hours, even though we spent time waiting for rain to abate. The cart girl only made it around once.
Had a very enjoyable round with the person I was paired up with, and this course will remain on my play list.
The Trophy Club of Atlanta
Played On 9/22/2012The saying is true...best greens in Alpharetta
This is a semi-private course in the heart of Alpharetta, GA and I play there at least once a month. Even on the hottest days in Atlanta, this course is always in good shape, including the greens. The course is not long nor difficult, and yardage is fairly well-marked for those that do not have GPS. It is evident that the grounds crew take great pride in the course. The practice facility could use better range balls - with new balls to be used by all, not just the club members.
P.S. I play more than once a month, but golfnow did not give an option that fit my category.
