Beautiful course, will definitely be back

Gorgeous course with massive elevation changes, interesting greens and well-designed fairway bunkers and hazards. Moderately difficult (for an 18 handicap) but fair from the white tees, but would also be challenging and interesting for low handicappers from the tips.

Set amongst the grounds of an old mental asylum, there are several holes that are just stunningly beautiful, you are bombing drives down onto the fairways below and trying to miss the bunkers.

The ranger speeds the slow-pokes along which is great, I wish more courses did this.

There is no walking - carts only based on the topography, and long distances between holes. Driving range is good, putting green is ok but overall I loved this course.

Wonderful, interesting course and great staff

Loved this course. It's certainly challenging for a 22-handicap like me, with narrow fairways (occasionally dauntingly so), some great elevation changes (both across and along the fairways) and sharp dog-legs, including a wonderful long double-dog leg Par 5 - but it's really well put together, interesting, and in good shape.

Some good water and bunker placements increase the challenge - I only used my driver 5x in the round, many of the longer holes reward a good long iron. The fairways and greens were in good shape - fairly quick but not unfairly so.

With COVID/social distancing in place, the bunkers were un-raked and flag sticks remained in, (we didn't go inside so I can't comment on the clubhouse) but the driving range and a snack bar were open which was a pleasant surprise.

My only suggestion is to move the red (ladies) tees further back (towards the whites). We played with a female friend (25 handicap) and she was teeing up a full 130 yards in front of us on some of the par 5's, and 60 yards on the par 3's. She complained that they were vastly underestimating the typical female player, and I agree.

The staff were super friendly, I believe there is a new owner and they are really trying to make it work.

Was really pleased to get out there and will definitely be back.
