Rancho Solano Golf Course
Played On 08/20/2016Very Nice Course
Haven't played this course in probably 20 years. Took my son out and glad I did. This course was in beautiful shape, no wonder it is so popular. The greens were in perfect shape, fairways were great and the only thing I can say that is somewhat negative is that some of the traps could use more sand. Played with another twosome that play the course quite a bit so they were giving me some advice on where to hit on some of the holes. If you have a chance to play this course do it, you won't be disappointed. I had a great round thanks to the people I played with.

Has been almost 5 years since I last played this course. Didn't like it back then, probably because I wasn't playing that well. Gave it another try and liked it. It is not a long course but narrow fairways and water make it a challenge. You have to hit your drive in the fairway or you are going to have some trouble. The rough is tough in spots, a lot of traps guarding the green and of course the water. The greens were in excellent shape. They did have some tough pin placements this day and with the water and narrow fairways I gave it a somewhat challenging course. The staff for the most part, very friendly, had one guy help check me in who was high on himself, not impressed. According to him the course is going to start doing all their own tee times and dump golfnow. One thing I have noticed about the Sac courses is they stay with the same price for most of the day and late in the day they drop it a little. If I am going to play late in the day in the summer I would expect the price to come down. Could be the reason when I drive buy in the afternoon I hardly ever see anyone on the courses. Didn't get to use their practice facilities except the putting green which is in very good shape. Also the only thing I had in the bar restaurant was a beer. The inside is very nice and clean so I would imagine the food is good. I played as a single and paired up with another single and later on another couple joined us. Had a very nice time and that is because the people I played with made it very enjoyable. This is a very nice course and I will play it again if the price is right.

Have played this course a few times before. Saw a good deal on golfnow so thought I would play it again. It is a nice little course, fairways were in very good shape as were the greens and bunkers. It is not a hard course but has a lot of bunkers and some water. If you stay in the fairway and out of the rough you will probably have a good round. Had some tough pin placements today but it keeps you on your toes. I love the course and always seems to score well here but the pace of play was really bad, took 4 hours and 40 minutes. We were waiting on every hole which kind of ruins your rhythm. This course is always busy, but they have to speed things up if they want the people coming back. I love the course and will play it again but it is not at the top of my list to play it again any time soon. I do however recommend the course, golfers will enjoy it. I would also like to say that the staff were all very nice. The food is always pretty good here and with a good cold drink you can sit in or outside and watch what is happening on the 10th or 18th holes, the 18th is a very nice finishing hole.

First time playing this course. Came to Vegas to get away from the wet weather in California. The course was in very good shape. Fairways were very good with a little run to them, greens were a little fast but fair, and the bunkers were a little hard, front nine probably hit 4 of them. A few of the fairways were a little tight but I would not consider it target golf, just keep your ball fairly straight. I loved the course and a few of the holes have some great views so bring your camera. The group I played with was great, made for a nice round of golf. I will play this course next time I come to Las Vegas. Also forgot to mention the food. Got a breakfast burrito from the restaurant, excellent. The staff were very nice and the cart lady came around at least 3 times and always had a smile on her face. We didn't buy anything but gave her a nice tip at the end.

First time playing this course, glad I did. The course was beautiful and in very good shape. Fairways had roll, bunkers had sand and the greens were excellent and a little fast. Played with a couple who had played here before and it made for a very nice round. We finished in about 3 hours and 45 minutes which was nice, had a group ahead of us for the last 5 holes with a walker but he moved pretty good. The course has history and has some really nice old homes around the course, of course there were some run down ones also, don't understand why? Bring your camera and take a few pictures. Got something to eat before I went out, food was very good, also the staff that I encountered were all really nice. I got a good deal on Golfnow and will play this course again.

Played On 03/14/2016Beautiful Course - Worth Playing
First time playing this course, got an unbelievable deal on golfnow. Had no idea what this course looked like until I showed up. I played the Mountain Course and it was beautiful. I played with a local couple, very nice, made for a great day of golf. The fairways, sand traps and greens were in excellent shape. Had a lot of run on the fairways and the greens were pretty fast, took a while to get used to them. The restaurant had great food and the staff I encountered were all very nice. They also have great practice facilities. This is absolutely the best city owned course I have ever played at, bar none. Let me clarify that. If Bayonet and Black Horse in Monterey are City Owned then it is right there with them. I will play here again, will try the Palms course next time. **Bring your camera.

Played On 03/13/2016Worth Playing
First time playing this course, have played the Desert Course. The course was in very good shape. The fairways were rolling very well, sand traps had sand and the greens were in excellent shape, a little fast but fair. Scenery is spectacular so bring a camera. I went out as a single and caught up to a foursome about the forth hole. They let me go through at the sixth and it was smooth sailing from there. Not many people out this day Sunday. Reason might be that traffic from Las Vegas was bad, I mean really bad so I picked a great day to play. Took a lot of pictures and took my time. I highly recommend this course, you won't regret it. The cart lady was really nice, ordered a sandwich and a few holes later there she was, great sandwich. The gentlemen in the pro shop took the time to look up on the internet for me on what I could do for my new squeaky shoes, baby powder, thank you. Also have to mention that I got this deal on golfnow. So easy to check multiple courses and with most of the courses in Las Vegas charging upwards of double on non residents this is the way to go. Would have played here anyway as I love the courses.
Del Monte™ Golf Course
Played On 02/17/2016Windy But Nice
First time playing this course. Got a great deal on golfnow and went down. Hardly anyone on the course so they let me out early, good thing the rains were coming. Very windy for the first nine, ball moved a couple of times when putting. Read some earlier reviews and didn't quite know what to think. The fairways were in very good shape as were the bunkers and the greens. 6 of the first 7 holes I played into the wind, wow I parred the No. 1 handicapped hole. Sun came out for the last 10 holes and the wind died down a little which made it a little easier. I put fair on the weather as it was very windy early on which made the course very tough. Club selection was tough against the wind and with it. I finished the round in 3 hours taking my time. Overall the course was in very good shape. Forgot to mention the tee boxes were also in great condition. The staff were very friendly and probably the only thing I can say negative about this course is that I think you are paying a higher price because it is Monterey. It is a course worth playing though so I do recommend this course. I will play it again if I get a good price.

Let me say that I will play it again when it is dry. I gave it poor on course conditions because it was soaking wet, not anyplace where you could stand and not be standing in water. It is a nice little course with some nice features, not real long but fun to play. Has a few forced carries, a couple of them over water but nothing to worry about. They have a nice putting green, chipping area and a very nice driving range which was closed due to water. Greens were in good shape, sand traps were OK but had some water in some and the fairways were very poor, have to see what they look like when they are dry. Hooked up with a local for the last 4 holes and he said he joined this club and can play all the golf he wants for $90 a month. If that is true anyone who lives up here should take advantage of this. Also the 19th hole looks very nice, didn't go in but looks very clean and looks over the course. This is a course that anyone can play so I do recommend it.
Thank you for the good rating! We appreciate your honest feedback, it is important to us. We regret to hear you round was a little wetter than anticipated. We look forward to seeing you when it's a little drier out. We're happy to hear you would recommend us!

First time playing this course. Sand traps in nice condition, greens were excellent, very very fast with some very tough pin placements. Fairways and tee boxes could use some work but you do get some run on the fairways. A little course knowledge could be useful the first time around. I was told that the nine on the east side of the freeway came later and the nine on the west was the original. I really liked the layout of the course and will definitely play it again. 19th hole is nice, good drinks. Didn't try the food as it was getting late. I recommend this course, very fun to play.

Haven't played this course in over 15 years, still in nice shape. Sand traps and greens were in very good shape and the fairways were very nice also. They have some very nice practice facilities as well, chipping green, sand trap, putting green and a nice driving range. Had 2 twosomes in front of me and still finished in 1 hour and 45 minutes. This course is for everyone. I highly recommend this course.
Foothill Golf Course
Played On 01/11/2016Practice Your Irons
A nice course to practice your iron game. It is not crowded, don't have to play fast, enjoy it. The only thing you have to watch is the scorecard to tell you where the next tee box is, just a little confusing but not that bad. No sand or water, just a nice little course. Fairways are average but the greens are about the best I have seen all year anywhere. The price is maybe a little more than hitting a bucket of balls at Haggin Oaks, I prefer the course. I will be back.

Played On 01/08/2016Nice Course & Great Views
To start with, this course is in good condition considering the fact that they park cars on some of the fairways during football games at Levi Stadium. The greens and bunkers were in very good condition. Tee boxes could use a lot of work on some not all. The fairways for the most part were in good condition, like I said some are used for parking. Love the layout of the course, was a lot of fun to play. Breezed through in a little over 3 hours, would have been quicker but no carts on fairways this day. Has some very nice views on some of the holes. Where they park cars, hard to figure where to go on some holes. I really like this course though and will play it again. The restaurant had a lot of people in it so food and drinks must be good. I got a hot dog to go and it was very good. Had a nice outdoor area, probably great in the summertime. Good practice facilities and the only problem I would have is the price. I got a great deal on Golfnow, about $15 cheaper than what the course would charge. With some of the conditions mentioned it is not a $50. course.

This is a nice little course for beginners and others who want to work with their irons. They have a putting green, driving range and an area to work on your chipping. The price is very reasonable. The course is in good shape, greens and sand traps are OK. Nothing extra to say except I would play it again when I want to work on my irons.
Lockeford Springs Golf Course
Played On 12/07/2015Course Knowledge Is Useful
Been a while since I played here. It is a nice course and worth playing. Sand traps, greens and fairways were all in good condition. There were things that needed to be done but they were not that bad. The only problem I had was pace of play, was a little slow but being a single made it worse. I played a few holes on the back nine and then came back to the front, seemed like most of the people going out were a late bunch so that allowed me to do what I did. One thing, there are a few blind shots so beware. Didn't have time to eat so I didn't rate the quality of food. I have eaten here before, usually a hot dog and chips which are pretty good. I like the course and I do recommend it.

First time playing this course. Had heard about it so wanted to play it. Got a great deal on golfnow so took it. Weather was a little cool for the first couple of holes as we started at 12:30. Warmed up and was great the rest of the way, hardly anyone out there. Started the back nine and parred the first three holes, was pumped. Great views and a great course. Fairways, greens and sand traps all in great shape. I played the whites which are close to 6400 yards, perfect for a senior like me. This course is not for a beginner, too many problems for you. Loved the course and will be back. If I lived closer I would play it more often but I don't. I definitely recommend this course. For the record I shot an 86, 45 on the back and a 41 on the front. On the back gave up at least 4 strokes on two holes, my fault. Not bad for the first time though.

Wanted to play 9 close to home. Got a good deal on golfnow and went up. It is a short 9 hole course in Grass Valley. Not much to it so a great course for beginners and locals. Met up with a local and had a nice time playing. Nothing hard about the course, everything is pretty straight. Greens gave me a little test but that was about it. If I was in the area I would play it again but would not travel to it, too many nice courses around me. I would recommend this course to a friend only if he wanted to play 18 at a more than reasonable rate.

Been a while since I played this course. I was surprised, it was in very good condition. Greens were in good shape and running pretty fast, fairways were in very good condition and the bunkers had sand, wow. This is a course anyone can play, not real long, has a couple of tough holes that make it fun to play. Pace of play is not real fast but not slow either. Had a group in front of us that was all over but you know, they have to learn somewhere. I would recommend walking, enjoy the scenery. Finished right before dark so the restaurant or snack bar was closing, didn't have a chance to try the food. I highly recommend this course, I will play it again.
Executive at Bing Maloney Golf Course
Played On 11/18/2015Good For Iron Play
First time playing the exec. course. Wanted to play a quick nine before dark and saw a good deal on golfnow. It is a very nice course to play your irons on. Has two holes that you can use your driver or 3 wood on if you are not a bomber. Greens were in good shape, bunkers were not too bad and the fairways were OK. Overall it is a nice course to practice on and I would play it again. It is a course that anyone can play, not very hard, a great place for beginners.
Blue Rock Springs Golf Course - East
Played On 11/14/2015Nice Course & Great Views
First time playing this course. Have played every course around it and decided to try it, glad I did. Played the East Course, has some great views and some outstanding holes. #7 is a great hole, straight downhill and then 90 degrees right. #15 is another great hole uphill. Greens were in great shape, fairways the same. Traps were the only problem, not enough sand. Loved the course though and will play it again. Didn't comment on the 19th hole but I hear it is good. Had a great polish dog at the snack bar. I highly recommend this course. Star Rating 4.8
