Lake Isle Country Club

Played On 05/09/2022Small, tricky and fun
First time playing this course, with no usable course diagram (the one on the card is too small and no detail), made for quite a few blind shots and surprises. But mostly in a good way. The condition of the fairways and greens was excellent. They told us the halfway house was open, but it wasn’t, except for the bathroom. Fairly priced and overall a good experience.

Played On 06/08/2021Nice course slow play cranky staff
I would have only positive things to say if not for the slow play and the clerk who didn’t want to send us out as a three ball even though we bought and paid for the fourth slot.
Skyway Golf Course at Lincoln Park West
Played On 03/30/2021Fun course but expensive
$39 for walking 9 holes plus a cart fee, winds up to be an expensive round. But otherwise a fun experience.
Carolina Shores Golf & Country Club
Played On 12/10/2020A cow pasture
Worst fairways - mud and crabgrass- worst greens - mostly sand- I have EVER seen in 50 years. Would not play again if they paid me.
Eagle Nest Golf Club
Played On 11/07/2019Solid for the money, but everyone seems to know it
Greens too slow. Fairways good. Nothing breathtaking or difficult, but a solid course to hack around on.

Fine to knock around on, but don’t try to play summer rules here.

This course has all the appearances of a first rate club but there are early signs that something is wrong. A paper placed on top of the scorecard contains all kinds of warnings about pace of play and of what not to do and telling you that big brother is watching you on GPS, so don't you dare get too close to the greens. And in fact the sentry poles and cart paths require you to park miles away and the system disables the cart and forces you to reverse if you get within about 75 yards. The layout itself isn't bad but there is gnarly Bermuda everywhere right up to the greens and the greens themselves, which are ridiculously slow, seem like they are painted a sickly light green. I felt like there were chemicals everywhere. We waited, together with the foursome ahead of us, at every tee on the back nine. So much for their warning about pace of play.
Hi! Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. Your feedback about the course is important to us. We are working to get everything up to par. We have projects ongoing to recover the fairways and greens. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game, and we will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Carolina Shores Golf & Country Club. We hope to see you again soon.
