Serenoa Golf Club
Played On 07/15/2023Nice course
Hadn't played in here in years for reasons I'm not sure. Course was in good shape considering the lack of rain in the area lately. Greens were consistent, fairways and tee boxes were nice. Will definitely go back in the near future.
Buffalo Creek Golf Course
Played On 03/26/20225 hour and 45 minute round!!
Overall the course is in great shape, no complaints there. They were 40 minutes behind on tee times because they said they didn't have enough carts? One of the guys in our group said he played there the day before and carts were not a problem but it took him 6 hours to play! Won't be back there anytime soon for a $60, five and a hour round of golf.
Buffalo Creek Golf Course
Played On 06/12/2021Good value for the money
They punched their greens earlier than most courses (end of May) and they have come back really nice. Now if they can just get some rain the fairways and surrounding areas will catch up with the greens. Enjoy this course even though it's a bit on the long side. Once a foursome let our threesome play through we played in 3 hours and 10 minutes when we teed off at 2 pm.
Heritage Harbour Golf Club
Played On 03/07/2021Embarrassing
What a huge disappointment this course has been the last two times I have played it. It is in such poor condition that it's almost unplayable. I used to love this course and the condition it was always in but each time I have played this course over the last 2-3 years it just gets worse and worse. Barren fairways, weeds everywhere, bunkers that haven't been attended to since probably the last time I played it and I don't mean raked, I mean maintained and manicured. Deep bunkers have the sides caving in and the edges can't even be defined. I hate to write such a bad review but other golfers need to be aware that the only value here is if you can get a sub $20 rate at this course because anything over that is robbery!
River Run Golf Links
Played On 01/24/2021Best county owned course.
I've been playing this course on and off since it opened. In the past it was just another public course that was always in rough shape. Don't know what has changed over the last year but condition are much improved, greens are nice and consistent, tee boxes finally have grass on them and I've always liked the layout. Will be playing this course more often if that continues to be the trend.
Thank you for your review! We will make sure to pass along your positive experience to our team at River Run Golf Links. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Jacaranda West Country Club
Played On 08/29/2020Good value
This was my second time playing this course in the last month. It's a bit of a drive but well worth it. Course is in excellent condition, greens are true and consistent. A little short from the white tees but still challenging. Finding courses in Florida during the summer time in this kind of condition is rare because they all aerate 1-2 times, so typically you"re putting on sanded or bumpy greens. These were almost perfect!
Misty Creek Country Club
Played On 07/25/2020Nice greens
Greens were very nice but the fairways were very patchy. Lots of browns spots from where they killed weeds and some bare spots too. You couldn't have asked for nicer greens this time of year, obviously there aeration worked. Now they just need to work on their fairways.
Jacaranda West Country Club
Played On 07/18/2020Will return to play again
Drive by this course once a week and noticed it was always in great shape. Decided to bring my weekly foursome down here (we all live in Bradenton). We all enjoyed it. Fairways were the best we've played on all summer. Greens had been punched recently but were coming in nicely. We will definitely be back again.
Buffalo Creek Golf Course
Played On 03/14/2020Dry conditions
Course was very dry and fairways were brown but you can't blame the course for that, it's been a dry March. Greens were good so at least they are watering those.
The Highlands Golf Course
Played On 05/23/2020Conditions were expected
I understand courses in summer have to be aerated so it's hard to rate a course based on that. There was a temp green on #3 that was ridiculously short, I could have thrown a ball underhanded to it. A couple of greens had some really rough spots to putt through that had nothing to do with the aeration.
Dear Golfer,
Thanks for your review. We fully understand that Winter turf conditions can change dramatically when we have cold snaps and frost. Typical Bermuda Golf Course Turfgrass will turn off color yellow and rough can actually brown out with frost burn. This time of year, we actually only mow fairways about twice a month, they just don’t grow much at all from December thru February. Cart traffic from increased seasonal play factors in as well and keeps the turf compacted thus creating tighter lies. Fluffy fairway lies only exist where ryegrass overseed has been applied. We applied ryegrass overseed on Par 3 tee boxes and several weak turf green surrounds in November/December and those areas are greening up nicely to provide better conditions in the coming months.
Our focus during this time of the year is keeping the green rolling smooth and fast. With the notable exception on a few greens that had some heat stress in November, the green are rolling very true and fast. Customers have been extremely happy with the greens and surrounds. Our bunkers, yes they need total rebuilds to make them more playable. The course is reaching the 20 year old stage and we do have plans in the works for a suitable renovation in 2021 or 2022, the timing depends on our villa and hotel development project.
All in all, we know we have work to do, I assure you the list of work to be done never gets shorter, only longer. Of course we know we have to earn your business and we work hard to provide great customer service in the clubhouse grill, back patio halfway house, pro shop and cart staff experience.
Thank you, HHGC Mgmt
