Well past it’s prime

First thing it has no driving range to warn up at, but does have 2 hitting nets. I played it late morning after an evening rain and course doesn’t drain well, 70% of my shots plugged. Course really should not have opened, carts were 90 degrees and were tearing up the fairways. Also many of the groups were not following 90 degree rule. You can tell the course has been abused for years. Bunkers are lucky to have 1 inch of sand before hitting clay base layer, also no prep of bunkers before play started. I can only imagine how great it was when it was properly cared for. Also the epidemic of people hitting into each other also exists at this course., like so many others these days.😞

Painfully Slow

I cannot express how painfully slow play was over 5.5 hours. It seemed everyone was playing the wrong tee boxes for their abilities. When I talked to the head pro he said I should have expected 5- 5.5 hours. There is something definitely wrong when a course is playing 5-5.5 hours average for a round of golf. Conditions of the course were also poor, teeing grounds were terrible, many of the bunkers were just dirt no sand, the grounds crew mowed the grass just leaving it in big clumps in the rough. It was just sad that such a good layout is neglected like this. I think they need to consider new management. Also it would be nice if Golfpass would list average playing time. I would have never played this course if I new the average playing time was 5-5.5 hours.

Avoid

If you’re a better player player you may wish to avoid this track. Slow play is an understatement my round was over 5.5 hours. When talking to head professional he was not apologetic but instead stated I should have expected 5-5.5 hours. That’s ridiculous and if that’s their average play time, their definitely doing something wrong.. The course layout is good but many of the bunkers were just dirt no sand. Teeing grounds were horrible often no grass. Mounds of freshly mowed grass piled everywhere in the rough. This is definitely a course that has seen a better days.

Wait for greens to heal

This could have been great course if it wasn't for the greens having been punched. Greens were almost unputt-able. The pace of play was also brutally slow 5 hours for the round. Too many people playing wrong tee boxes. Could have been much better if they would have had a marshal on the course. It would have also prevented groups from hitting into each other which almost caused some fights on the course. I would not recommend the course until they put a marshal on course and the greens heal. Until those things are done there are better courses in the area at cheeper prices.

Good Value

The course is a good layout, good condition, somewhat slow play but still within reason. The greens were a bit slow and grown out but were some of the best in the area when I played. Lots of raised tee boxes. Overall fun course!

Good course but greens need help

This is a visually beautiful course but the rains have really hurt the course. The new greens are like putting on Velcro. The areas around the greens and the farways are just water logged. When this course dries out and the greens recover it will be a great track but it definitely needs a few weeks of dry weather.

Great Course

Even though this is a somewhat short course it's still quit challenging. Narrow fairways make this a placement type course, long is not always good here. The course also favors the player that can shape his or her ball flight. If you like having to place your shots and not just whack the ball this is the course for you. But don't be fooled by it's length and really think about what tee box you choose, a little shorter is not always a bad thing.

Fun Course but slow play still great deal

This is a fun course, with fair amount of forced carries. Back tee boxes can have intimidating views, but fairways are generous. Course pace of play fairly slow, can figure 4-5 hour round.

Good Course

Course was good and has some challenging holes, some blind holes. It is worth checking out, facility and equipment need some updating. Greens are relatively slow. Real draw back is pace of play, slow at best. With faster greens and better pace of play course could be a real winner.

Not friendliest if your from out of town

Found staff rude. Preference pricing given to locals and when questioned, they stated I didn't need to to play there.

On first getting ready to tee off. The starter say's we have to pair you two up. I said I paid for this cart and I'm keeping it. He salutes me and goes back to his pack of local busy bodies. They could use a few more carts. To go along with a better starter.

Great course, good challenge

Freindly staff, great course, great deal. Narrow fairways make this short course a real challenge. This is just what you would expect from a Chi Chi Rodriquez course. Greens are relatively quick with soft undulations which will challenge your putting. You won't need your driver but this will definitely challenge your ball placement, long hitters will have no advantage on this course. Great fun!!!!
