As much fun as golf can be!

I would rate this a strong 4.5 stars. It's not the beast that #2 or #8 can be, but as far as fun golf on a beautiful layout... #3 delivers! Perfect Donald Ross greens and great overall turf conditions. At 5100 yards there is a fair number of short holes, but each has character and the overall experience is just fun. The last 4 or 5 holes can surprise you as the course gets tougher on the home stretch. A wonderful walk on a perfect late May day!

Pretty amazing for the 7th or 8th ranked choice at Pinehurst!

Thoroughly enjoyed #6 from the Blue tees at about 6500 hundred yards. Not a bad hole on the course and some of the better Par 3's you will find. I have only played #2, #8, #3 and now #6. #2 and #8 are definitely a notch above, but this is a really beautiful layout with a great mix of holes. Course conditions were perfect!

Great track... getting better every year!

I have been playing LP for over 10 years now... and it's been a real treat to see this course evolve into a true gem. For years people have spoken of LP at the 3rd best college course in the area... today... I hear more and more people rate it right up there... if not above Duke GC.
I am a walker and this course has a couple of long treks from green to tee early in the round, but from the 3rd tee on this is a wonderful walking course. The back nine is one of the best walks in the Triangle!
Great variety of holes and shot selections... my favorites are the very tough #5... and the back to back strength of 11 and 12. 11 is one of the best par 5's around... with amazing views of most of the back nine and Raleigh skyline in the distance. And the finish on 18 is as good as it gets!
The course is awesome, but the staff makes this place my golf home. Chip and Nick and their entire team run a great course... they have been a true life saver keeping the course open and in the most amazing shape the last 12 weeks of Covid-19!
I would recommend LP to any player... and if you want to really test your game move to the Black or State tees for all your can handle.

What a treasure in the heart of Durham!

I have played DGC many times over the past 15 years, but I have to note the addition of Bermuda greens and what must be a bigger emphasis on course conditions the past few years has really turned this Rees Jones redesign into a truly great track. All you can eat from the back, but don't let the first couple of holes scare you. Lots of variety of shots and plenty of birdies in the middle of the course.
It's a challenging but very walkable course, and the finish from the long Par 3 15th is outstanding. Best public course greens in the Triangle... get ready for 12-13 on the stimp.
I would recommend DGC to anyone looking for a great course, and take your time to see the rest of the campus when in the area... a truly special place!
