The course layout is excellent. Conditions are slipping in terms of divots in fairways & around greens, as well as ball marks on the greens. And then there is the horrendous pace of play. There were a few extremely slow groups bunched together yet there was no marshal to speed things up. And this was on a Sunday. We played the first 4 holes in 1 hour & 20 minutes waiting on EVERY shot. So we circled back to the 1st tee and replayed them. Some of the offenders left after the 9th so we caught the last of them on the 13th. We skipped that hole and played the rest. Also, one cart died on the front 9 so I pushed it to the turn with the other one. Went to get a replacement and nobody could be found. So we took one out of the barn. Ridiculous.

Course was in so-so condition. First nine is tight in spots. You can tell this was the added nine squeezed in after construction of housing. 2nd hole is a silly lay-up, lay-up & wedge par 5. Most of the greens were ok but a couple of them have rough patches. Back nine much better layout. Can't say I'd be excited about playing there again.

Everything about my experience Rock Harbor was very good except the design of the Boulder Course. There are some good holes but it's so extreme in spots that I would have a hard time believing a professional architect designed it. I've heard good things about the Rock Course and will give that a try one day. But count me out on the Boulder. (And I'm a guy that likes Tobacco Road!)
