Scoonie Golf Club
Played On 08/06/2021Scoonie on a relatively quiet day
Course is in good condition albeit there are some areas of the course that are under or need repair. its a municipal course so would expect maintenance being dependent upon local authority funding. Bunkers particularly difficult to play out from when theres Pebbles and small stones mixed in with quite a rough sand. All in all its a course thats easy to walk and is forgiving , never tried the off course amenities , too many covid rules being applied just now to take any risks.
Scoonie Golf Club
Played On 03/26/2021Testing course typical link conditions
Course was in;superb condition the weather was kind despite forecast but the wind made it a bit more difficult, we played a two ball, but the four ball in front tended to slow us down and probably the rest of the course despite some attempts from us to let us play through they played on. So, slow play as side ld play Scoonie again and again.
Kinghorn Golf Club
Played On 03/05/2021Great Day out
Starter was friendly, course was in good condition, for the time of year, greens like lightning, just a shame the clubhouse was not open, but did not spoil the golf and exercise.
Watch out for Dog walkers they seem to think they have right of way.......
Glencorse Golf Club
Played On 11/26/2020Heavy Going - Somme like conditions
I played this for the first time with a couple of friends, now lm sure the course is well laid out and enjoyable in dryer climates. But, l feel the course on this occasion failed to deliver, it’s obviously well played, maybe because of this the muddy , close to the Battle of the Somme conditions made it difficult to play, we walked off after nine holes, underfoot was dangerous, tee mats have seen better days, much to the extent that if you wanted to use a small tee, it was difficult to set the ball up. Although it was a relatively dry day, you can visibly see the volume of footfall playing the course, It would benefit from less usage, or restrict the amount of players on the course, it looked tired and it was dangerous to walk in some areas.
I know it’s difficult during these covid times and clubs benefit from additional income through Golf Now, but l thin’ the shear volumes are having a negative impact at Glen Corse, l fear for the club members if and when the new season starts in 2021, their course may not have recovered.
Gullane Golf Club - No. 3
Played On 11/19/2020Another great day at Gullane
This is a great course, we have played it three times recently and it never fails to present different challenges, throw in the weather, a gentle breeze of the coast, pins positioned in some difficult locations makes for an interesting round. Staff in the visitors lounge were friendly and very helpful , ensured that we were not travellers from outside our area, we used the track and trace , enjoyed the light snacks and made the best of a windy day by the seaside, oh and somebody brought Gof clubs ................see you soon
Gullane Golf Club - No. 3
Played On 11/12/2020A Different course every time l play
This is great course, and it tests you every time l return to play it, recommend it to anyone who links links golf. However, there does seem to be a lack of respect probably from the minority where pitch marks on the greens are not being replaced and divots not being replaced, l suppose it’s a reflection of the sheer volume of players moving through the course, but it’s time they were all remembered to look after the course, if they cause a pitch mark or a divot they at least try to replace/repair it.
Staff were friendly, although we only spoke to a green keeper and the starter,We followed a four ball and one of the guys was wearing a pair of demons and track shoes....
Leven Links Golf Course
Played On 11/05/2020Choose Leven Links
One of the best links courses that lve played over the past few months, course set up was difficult but fair , it was in great condition, and the weather favourable with the cool westerly breeze, staff and members made us very welcome, a great visit!. Great value for money.
Gullane Golf Club - No. 3
Played On 10/22/2020Fantastic course
It’s a real shame that covid has shut down the off course facilities at Gullane, and all the other courses l have played throughout the summer, but the course, it’s condition and the general flow of play did not let us down, we had a very good round, weather was kind and there were some spectacular views, in between the golf., a very enjoyable day and covid won’t stop us returning.
Bathgate Golf Club
Played On 10/15/2020Luckily, unlike other courses we have played recently there were no winter greens, course was a little damp in places, but never the less it was a good test for our golf standards, there was no facilities in use exc toilet so could not comment on the facilities off the course. One observation is the large amount of divots and in repaired pitch Marks, the green keepers nightmare, all in all taking into the conditions and the weather, well worth the money.
Glenrothes Golf Club
Played On 10/08/2020A good challenge
Course was in good condition, although there was a large number of un repaired pitch marks around many of the greens, inclusive of pitch marks on the green . On the whole the layout was good and presented its challenges.
Clubhouse and staff was friendly and welcoming, practicing the covid guidelines and providing a very professional service, all round great value.
Newbattle Golf Club
Played On 10/01/2020This course is a cracking test
Course layout and condition was excellent, fairways and greens are of a high standard and well manicured, staff were friend,y, club house welcoming and food choice and quality hard to beat. Downside was the flow of play, Had a four ball in front of us that did tend to slow us down, but we too were not in a hurry, completed round in just over 3 hour 30 minutes, l recommend this course to anyone , there’s not many courses in this condition just now, get yourselves down to Newbattle, great course and great value all round.
Kinghorn Golf Club
Played On 09/24/2020Cracking Links course
Course was in great condition and prove different to live up to it being a links course, putting being probably one of the most difficult things todo, but that’s what you get on a links course, difficult greens a little wind and it tests you’re golf skills.
Just a shame that the club has still got the catering facility closed, they could be making money, instead the steward works a few a week, mainly on a Saturday, starter inn the other half Andrew was helpful and friendly.
Carnwath Golf Club
Played On 09/17/2020Yardage deceived us....
for what appeared to be a relatively short course in immaculate condition the hill climbing was unexpected , however we persevered and enjoyed the day, the weather helped us get around a relatively difficult course set up.
The pro helped us to room out for some difficult holes where players /fairways crossed over, but the flow of payers on what appeared to be a busy course was great, no delays and round completed within 3 and half hours.
Clubhouse was very welcoming and exercising strictest covid guidelines, food was great !
Pumpherston Golf Club
Played On 09/10/2020Forgiving course
Played this course previously and I would recommend it to anyone within the locality or willing to travel, course is starting to pay short now, probably because of the weather changes, some water lying about, but otherwise in good condition . Shame that the clubhouse catering was closed, missed out on our bacon roll and coffee, sense the amenity score
Burntisland Golf House Club
Played On 08/20/2020Testing times
ive payed this course numerous times in the past and we keep going back for more, its well laid out and thres a certain amount of difficulty thrown into the mix to make the round interesting. facilities are all well marked up with signs to follow the covid rules, I would recommend this course to anyone, great value and a great course.
Pumpherston Golf Club
Played On 08/13/2020Good course the get WI’ll test everybody level
Great value for money and the course despite a heavyweight downfall of water over the past few days seemed to hold up well, play was a little slow due to a four ball in front of us, this was interrupted by a single player who wanted to play through everyone, but it did not put us off our game and pace.
Staff were welcoming and friendly, exercising he covid regulations in the clubhouse, and a good selection of food on the menu. We’ll worth a visit .
Kinross Golf Courses - The Bruce Course
Played On 06/11/2020Great course, fantastic value
At the time of writing l will have played Both courses at Kinross within a week, both courses are in superb condition and the deal of 25 gbp per round is fantastic value for @ quality course.
Planning to play it again before end of the month, just a shame that the clubhouse is closed.
Thornton Golf Club
