Twin Hills Golf Course
Played On 07/22/2022Surprisingly good West side of Rochester
The biggest, baddest greens of any public course in the 5 county Rochester, NY region. They were in excellent condition. Somewhat confusing green to tee continuity, would seem impossible to walk.

Played On 08/12/2020Toughest on West Side of Rochester, NY
We have played here several times, usually earlier in season when wetter/softer. Local droughts have been tough on courses, and some grass stress is evident. #1 hole positions (of 4) for all 18 holes seemed to be the toughest. Huge teens, good conditions.
Mill Creek Golf Club
Played On 07/27/2020Largest greens in the Rochester area
Course conditions and maintenance clearly affected by Covid-19 down time. No rakes, but bunker sand excellent. Greens, as usual, fast and excellent: would fit at any private course. 2-3 club wind and 90 degree temps affected pace of play. They have a pin scheme, could have used more central locations today! We play here 2-3 times a year, 40 minute drive and worth it.
Island Oaks at Lima Golf & Country Club
Played On 06/15/2016Challenging off the tee
More challenging than it's sister course, Charleston Pines, especially off the tee. Also, larger, more undulating greens, more forced carries, and well designed and positioned bunkers. Course was dry as most courses in this area have been this spring, so fairways were in great shape and the rough was not as high or as thick as when we have played it in early fall. Enjoyable course, but it would be a tough walk.

Played On 06/14/2016Foursome leagues at 10:30 weekdays?
Course is looking a little better over the last two years, but are we done working on the drainage ponds any time soon? Also: quite ridiculous to have a mid-morning men's league of foursomes where even though of retirement age and carrying handicaps of 30+, we never pick up when out of a hole and we don't allow gimmees?? The longest round I have played in over five years, and on one of the shortest/easiest courses we opt to play.
Livingston Country Club
Played On 05/31/2016Small greens, pitched, way too fast
I played this course 45 years ago while on a college team when it was only nine holes. Though a much better course today with the new nine, the routing has created at least one green that slopes impossibly front to back. I general, the greens are way too small to deserve the green speeds we typically find. The course was in very good shape in May 2016 after a mild winter, but the green speeds make it very difficult to truly enjoy. On the other hand, the bar/grill is to be commended for great food.
Thank you for the 4 Stars. We appreciate the great feedback regarding the course. It is definitely a bit challenging, but always enjoyable. Hope to see you back out here soon!
