Hickory Hill Golf Course
Played On 09/09/2023nice course - what I saw of it
1st time playing this course with my son on Saturday in dense foh. A big shout out to our playing partner Bob who guided us around. Couldn't see anything past 150 yards and at times 100 yards and there is tons of local knowledge so Bob really helped us out. The course is seemingly wide open but fairways, because of the slopes are not easy to hit. As mentioned, the fun really starts on the greens which are not very big and have tons of slopes. Heavy rain the night before keep the green speeds at bay but they would have been a nightmare if dry and fast
Galloping Hill Golf Course
Played On 08/14/2023nice course - very, very disappointing experience
I booked this course looking for a good test of golf, 6850 yards, 138 slope. Haven't played this in 34 years so I booked it instead of Neshanic or Heron. What I got was maybe 6200 (that is being generous) yards AND sanded green which no one of course mentions until you see for yourself on the first green. I should say on the first TAN, nothing green about them today.
Then on the 2nd tee box I realize the back tees are not set up and it looked like they never are (WHICH IS INEXCUSABLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). The tees were way up. sometimes two or more boxes forward, I didn't pay $84 dollars to flip wedges into sanded TANS (greens). And there is nothing quite like putting on wet sanded greens all morning, did I mention I paid $84?
I rated the value today as poor but that is as low as I could go, a few words come to mind but I will refrain. I get this needs to be done but can someone say something before hand? GIVE ME AN OPTION TO PLAY? It's a shame because under all the sand the greens looked great and it's a pretty cool layout. Tee boxes and fairways were nice and the rough was lush. Drainage is an issue on the lower holes.
The pace of play was great, the carts are awesome and I played with three very nice gentlemen who are regulars. They were outraged that they changed me what they did. All in all it should have been a great day, even birdied the first hole, and it was dreadful. I should have turned around on the 2nd tee box and got my money back.

Played On 07/03/2022very good Dye layout
Very interesting track, typical Dye course. The course was a little rough around the edges but the
fairways and greens were in fine condition. It was my first time playing the course so it was a little tricky trying to pick a line off the tee. Dye makes you want to hit the tee shot where you shouldn't and
I got tricked a couple of times. Played with a gent on the back 9 who said the course had gone through some ownership changes and very little money was invested in the course. The new owner is bringing the course back but years of not putting money back into the course takes years to fix.
As mentioned in previous reviews, the traps are work in progress with some good and many that need to be redone. $70 is a little steep but deals can be had during the week. Having said that, you are in a resort area, on the weekend, with not many options in the area so it is not unreasonable.
If you are up there I would certainly check it out.
Morgan Hill Golf Course
Played On 10/11/2021CUT THE GREENS !!!!!!!!!!!!
RIPPED OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Drove 1:15 minutes to play this course and you show up and the greens aren't cut. Its called a greens fee for a reason and when you do NOTHING to the greens you are ripping me off. How are you supposed to putt with all the dew on the greens? They couldn't even sweep the dew off Every putt is a different speed depending on the moisture on the green. Forget about getting a long putt to the hole, terrible experience.
I WILL NEVER PLAY THIS COURSE AGAIN (and I like it), COMPLETE AND TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. Play a course where they actually care about their customers.
Quail Brook Golf Course
Played On 10/06/2021Nice track
Nice course in very good condition from the tee boxes to the greens, bunkers in fantastic shape. My only issue is the pace of the greens, they are frustratingly SLOW. They are perfect and roll smooth but
they definitely need to lower the mover blades a couple notches.
Neshanic Valley Golf Course - Meadow/Lake Course
Played On 12/03/2020the greens - what an atrocity
the tee boxes, fairways, & sand traps were in great condition, as expected. The greens were the worst I played all year. Obviously the early Nov aeration hurts BUT you could roll or cut the greens, maybe move the pins. Atrocious would be the word I would use to describe the greens. No one fixes their ball marks so there were craters everywhere. It was disappointing because I know how good they are. They were punching the fairways so they maybe sanding the fairways.
