Course is in great condition. Greens have definitely been cut and rolled recently. 4 some in front of us were pretty slow but all in all great time

This place is an absolute gem! Was visiting for a work conference and able to stay an extra day to squeeze in a couple rounds of golf. So glad I spent the day here. From the first person I met who I believe was the GM to the cart guys, everyone was extremely friendly. I played early in the morning and again in the afternoon. Morning round was a bit complicated by the unexpected fog but it was a cool experience! Range and putting area were great to practice on between rounds, really well kept. Got some good food in the grill, and Kelsey was extremely friendly. Second round was sunny at 80, couldn't have asked for better weather. This is a challenging course if you are playing the first time. I was able to knock 7 strokes off just by playing different lines and having a bit better understanding of the green layouts. Second round was a bit slower due to a group spending a lot of time looking for lost balls but still finished in about 4 and 1/2 hours so wasn't an issue knowing everyone would be out for the long weekend. If you haven't played this course, you need to. I will definitely make it a regular stop when I am in town!
Thanks for the awesome review u863257158! We are thrilled to hear you had a great time with us. We hope that if you're in the area you'll be back for another round!
Hyde Park Golf Club
Played On 02/17/2018Fun course
Visiting the area and wanted to get a round in. Glad I chose to play here. Challenging course layout and greens had some fun contours to play off of. Some diseased areas around the course and tee boxes slanted made for some interesting tee shots but all in all a cool course to play
Thanks for your great feedback. We are glad that you appreciated the layout of the course. We are working very hard to correct the issues that are obvious and slowly turning them around. Hopefully you will be back to see all the changes that are taking place!
Melrose Country Club
Played On 10/21/2017So glad I found this course
Moved to Philadelphia just over a year ago and was pretty disappointed by the golf course offerings, especially coming from Michigan. Either have to drive 1+ hour or play a local muni that is beat down by June due to lack of maintanence. Had found 1 course within an hour drive that is pretty good but the employees could care less about your experience. After being fed up with that course, and searching GolfNow I stumbled across JC Melrose. A friend and I decided to give it a try a couple weekends in a row and see how it was. Couldn't believe what a gem this place is, especially so close to home. Great practice areas (i.e.. putting green, short game area, and range [irons only]). The short game area is actually kept and maintained very well. Putting green is very similar in terms of speed to greens on the course, and the range is enough to warm up on. The overall course is pretty challenging, you need to know where to miss and your irons will get a great work out. Although a "short" track my driver still gets enough use to make me smile if I'm hitting well, but if I'm not, I can still pull a wood or hybrid off the tee and not be overly penalized. The biggest thing that is going to keep me coming are the employees. So much better than the other courses in the area. The second time we played our tee time for two of us was right in the middle of three 4-somes playing together. We went to talk with the starter and they happily went to see where we could start as an alternate. Ended up starting on 5 or 6 and allowed us to play the first few holes at the end. Super friendly group of guys.
If you're looking for a place to call your home course I encourage you to check this place out, it's going to take a lot to pull me away from here for the foreseeable future.
The Wetlands Golf Course
Played On 08/26/2017Worth the drive
Usually play in Philly but a friend and I meet here to play occasionally. Great time as usual. The owner is a great guy and all of the staff are extremely friendly. Course in great shape for this time of year and really appreciate that they don't just jam the course with as many people as possible and keep things moving. The layout is challenging but not overly impossible to shoot a good score.
Cobb's Creek Golf Club - Olde Course
Played On 08/20/2017Pack your patience
9am round took 5 hours...guys in front of us were not playing ready golf, acting like it was a tour event. Let them know they needed to pick up the pace around 9th hole, but didn't change anything. After a delay causing our group and two groups behind us catching up we decided to give them a few warning shots. Course needs some rangers out keeping pace up. Course pretty good condition for August. $50 a little steep for how long it took, would only play with a hot deal.
The Club at Shannondell
Played On 08/11/2017PACE OF PLAY
As usual course looks pretty good for late summer, few rough spots in the fairways but to be expected with the hot weather over the last couple weeks. Have been playing this course since I moved to the area (~1-2 rounds per week) but will be looking for other spots even if it means playing somewhere more expensive due to the horrible pace of play. The last 3 holes were stacked up with 4 groups because of 3-some who had no business on the course. Practicing shots like they were in a PGA major. Then the groups behind them were taking anywhere from 10-11 shots, people hitting two balls, etc. The course has "rangers" but the only thing they look for are people driving carts in restricted spots. This has been getting progressively worse the last month or so. This place needs to enforce pace of play issues before I come back.
Inniscrone Golf Club
Played On 07/30/2017Pace of play an issue but good course
Had a round at 8:10 on a Sunday. Friend and I ended up getting paired up with a couple of friendly guys. By the 5th hole we were getting slowed down quite a bit. Was up standing by the green waiting for the other two to join up with the ranger watching this for about 10-15 minutes. This was despite letting them know we needed speed it up on the previous hole. When leaving the green, the ranger came up to my friend and I and told us to pick it up despite seeing the wait being caused by the other two. Obviously we weren't the ones causing the slow down. Put a damper on the rest of the round. Course conditions ok, but the tee boxes and greens looked pretty rough (long grass on the tees, and greens with tons of ball marks). Would probably play again but only if I wasn't paying $59, probably more along the lines of $40. Also website says free use of the range with the $59 price tag, but on arrival the front desk guy said that wasn't the case, but ended up giving the two of us one range token to split.
Eagle Eye Golf Club
Played On 07/13/2017Great course and pretty good conditions
Eagle eye is definitely one of my favorite courses to play near Lansing. There was outing earlier in the day and the greens got pretty beat up from people not repairing ball marks. Front desk never told me to start on the back but the ranger was pretty friendly when I explained it to him. Front desk seemed a little unfriendly as they were working with awards from the outing. Overall get great course to play when you can get a deal
The Club at Shannondell

Course still in awesome condition, especially at $40. Slow play though, course rangers just watch the slow groups but don't actually make any interventions.
Deerfield Golf & Tennis Club
Played On 04/29/2017Weekend Play
Having played this course multiple times last year, I was extremely impressed yesterday for my first time out to Deerfield. Last year there were some major pace of play issues, but they started using the GPS trackers this year that let you know if you are on pace or not. Saw a ranger out making sure there were no significant gaps in play. Had a slower group in front of us but we still finished in 4 hours. If you haven't been to Deerfield, make sure you get out there! By far my favorite course in the Philly/Wilmington area. It is a beautiful course, a lot of great elevation changes, and well kept. Now that the slow play is being addressed I will likely make an effort to go there more often!
Thank you for taking the time to review us. Your feedback is valuable, and we look forward to delivering you excellent service again soon. White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park thanks you!
