Longwood Golf Club - Post Oak Course
Played On 04/16/2018Good layout but needs work.
We played the Palmetto/Post Oak combination twice in the last 10 days.
When applying a "Fair" rating on course conditions we did give consideration to what the Houston area has been through over the past 8 months and in view of the rainfall and wind experienced, the course superintendent and maintenance staff have done a commendable job. Fairways have frequent bare spots but greens are in acceptable condition. Erosion along the edges of the cartpaths, though, requires badly needed attention and in some areas could lead to a serious accident, Pruning is required adjacent to cartpaths as well. We were fortunate in obtaining a discounted rate and consider regular green fees to be a bit exorbitant, given conditions. All staff whom we met and talked with treated us with utmost friendliness and courtesy.
Championship at Viewpoint Golf Resort
Played On 04/04/2017Well Worth Playing!
This course may initially appear to be easy but will certainly test the skills of most. The position and slope of some of the greens presents a challenge as many are elevated. The three staff members with whom we interacted were exceptionally friendly and courteous (pro shop, carts and starter) and in our opinion are a credit to the operation. Our only complaint is there was no marshal and as we arrived at the back nine, we counted four separate twosomes ahead of us, resulting in a slower than normal pace of play.
Would definitely play again.
Sunland Village Golf Course
Played On 03/26/2017A Bit Overrated!
Drove about 40 miles and chose this course because it had a 4.5 rating. Hard to understand why, as it does not have any outstanding features! We have played several courses of similar length and design with lower ratings which we would choose again over this one. We had to stop at the bathroom after nine, so, following etiquette and being courteous, we let a female foursome through. Then, some clown (another crass description would be appropriate) playing behind them drove up to the 10th tee and loudly and arrogantly accused us of cutting in! We realize the course has little control over such idiots and while it did not affect our overall rating, it did leave a sour taste.
Fountain of the Sun Country Club
Played On 03/13/2017Great First Time Experience
First time playing this course and knew in advance we had a shotgun tee time. We arrived late due to taking a wrong turn but the staff were very empathetic and helpful. Paired with a very friendly and courteous couple who were familiar with the course. Well groomed and maintained course which lived up to it's four star rating. Will definitely play there again and will recommend to others.
Greenfield Lakes Golf Course
Played On 02/21/2017Very Accomodating !
To be fair regarding course conditions, the course had just endured two days of rain and carts had to be confined to cart paths which contributed to slower than normal play, The staff were very accommodating, however, and offered us a reduced rate. Also the marshal allowed us to play until dark even though carts were due back by 6pm. Paired with nice, courteous young couple.
The Valley at Eastport Golf Club
Played On 04/18/2016Could be a great course!
Not a particularly long course but one would need to play it several times to get a proper feel for landing areas especially on water holes and swampy areas. Our primary concern and complaint was the condition of the cartpaths, In one word - atrocious! It is puzzling to understand why/how management has apparently abandoned this aspect of maintenance. Checkered flags on water holes with a blind approach are not always positioned adequately. Staff were friendly and pro shop was fine but quite honestly we cannot justifiably recommend this course.
Springfield Golf Resort
Played On 04/03/2015A good challenge
A nice course with excellent greens but fairways are sparse of healthy grass in places. A good mixture of 3's and 4's including a number layered and/or slanted greens which don't allow you to get too comfortable with your putts. A well appointed pro shop and restaurant with friendly staff.
Sunbird Golf Resort
Played On 03/05/2015Well worth playing again!
Enjoyable afternoon with another couple we met on the first tee. Mostly par 3's and 4's with one par 5. Water comes into play on several holes and well placed bunkers and undulating greens will get your attention. Fairways are mostly generous but some of the par 3's are tightly aligned with community residences. If you value your clubs, don't bother hitting any misplaced shots from the sandy/pebbly waste areas. The carvings of various animals, birds, etc. throughout the course are a neat attraction. Would definitely recommend it.
Mirror Lakes Golf Club
Played On 3/11/2013Good value for the money and a super friendly staff.
Having not played here before and in reading the limited reviews, we were not sure what to expect. From our first contact with the receptionist to the last with Melissa, it is obvious this course "goes all-out" to ensure your golfing needs are accomodated. Fairways and greens are superior to other similarly priced courses we have played in the Fort Myers area.
Heron Creek Golf and Country Club - Oaks/Marsh Course
Played On 2/21/2013Challenging!
If you haven't played this course before, get ready for a challenging round especially if you are starting on the Creek nine. The fairways are generally receptive but the greens are firm and fast with numerous undulations. Don't punish yourself too much if you don't play to your handicap here.
Good Morning jayaitch, thank you for taking time to write your review. I would like to look into your experience a little more. What name did you make your booking under? Can you give me additional information as to how we did not exceed your expectations? Thank you again and we value your feedback!
