Links of Sandpiper
Played On 05/02/2018Good and bad
The greens have degraded some over the past few weeks. They are still working on the course. There will be some temporary greens for several weeks if not months. They are trying to improve the course after years of neglect.
Camelia/Boganvilia Golf Course at Cleveland Heights Golf Club
Played On 05/02/2018Poor greens
The greens don't actually have grass. They have something green on them, but they putt like they are concrete or asphalt or maybe ice. A missed 5 foot putt crawling to the hole can go 15 feet past.

The condition of the course continues to improve. The pace is still slow. The late winter up north must be keeping the slowbirds here linger.
Links of Sandpiper
Played On 04/05/2018Course is very much improved over the past 6 months.
Course is much improved, but couldn't play today because of the weather.
Links of Sandpiper
Played On 04/03/2018course improved, but slow.
The course is vastly improved with the new ownership, but there isn't anyone assigned to ranger duty and the play was really slow. It is a shame when a couple of players are allowed to back up the entire course.
Bartow Golf Course
Played On 02/13/2018Improved
Course was in as good shape as I've ever seen it, but greens are still thin.
Links of Sandpiper
Played On 12/06/2017Wrong approach.
The new owners have made some improvement. A lot of cosmetics, some unintended holes filled in, some slopes smoothed out, one green in the process being re-sodded. Some well placed temporary cart paths.
However, the most important thing is to improve the weedy greens. They are more weeds than grass. The first thing they should have done is over-seed the greens and get some grass on them.
Links of Sandpiper
Played On 04/27/2017Dust dry. Greens are solid weeds.
The fairways are bone dry and the greens are pure weeds. No grass on the greens. Steadily going downhill.

Played On 04/12/2017Drying out.
The course in in good shape considering that we're in a long term drought.
Thanks so much for the nice feedback. We really could use some rain hopefully in the next week. Brock Witmyer (GM)
Schalamar Creek Golf Club
Played On 03/16/2016Course has deteriorated.
I used to look forward to playing here. Over the past year they removed the green surfaces and reseeded new greens. They were better before than they are now. The greens are covered with sandy patches and weeds. They are very bumpy. The greens on the front side had patches of shaggy grass that hadn't been mowed. It was impossible to judge how hard you had to hit to get through the few patches of grass. The greens on the back nine had been mowed, but otherwise were no better than the front nine. The fairways have been allowed to dry out so that they only have the appearance of grass, but are really all hard-pan. It is very disturbing that they have taken this local jewel and allowed to go to pot like this. It is now in as bad or worse condition than Sandpiper, Imperial Lakes, and Bartow. Very disappointing. It will be a long time recovering and restoring this course to a quality condition.
I would keep looking forward to playing Schalamar Creek. New greens have been installed and the grow in time has taken a little longer than expected. I wouldn't want to miss out on playing this local jewel with the new greens in place. Going to be a lot of fun.
Thanks for the feedback and we hope to see you back at CHGC. Brock Witmyer (GM)
