Great Gorge Golf Club - Lake/Quarry Course
Played On 04/13/2018Very nice!
Always an enjoyable day at this old classic. Beautiful scenic layout with great views...I played Rail/Quary...the 2 best nines in my opinion. Starter was super cool...staff very friendly....free range balls and bottled water.....not country club conditions, but good enough.....great deal on Golfnow.....highly recommend....and by the way, the old Playboy hotel is still there...abandoned but still cool to see history !
Preakness Valley Golf Course - West
Played On 10/19/2017No more driving!
I have played this course an insane amount of times in past years. Both courses were so bad back in the day we called them cow pastures. I drove excessively all over NJ, PA to find affordable, well conditioned tracks. I rediscovered both the East and West courses this season and I couldn't believe the dramatic changes to these tracks. All I can say is I'm done driving! 2 great courses 6 miles away! Couldn't be happier! Highly recommend!
Quail Brook Golf Course
Played On 08/17/2017Very disappointed
I had the good fortune to play Green Knoll and Spooky Brook for the first time this year and was very happy. After reading a lot of the reviews about Quail Brook, I was super excited to play here. The conditions were fair at best. A lot of bare spots all over the course. I found the layout to be boring. This was one of the few times I couldn't wait for the round to be over. The two guys they teamed me up with were also disappointed. This was a one timer for me.
Crystal Springs Golf Club
Played On 06/15/2017Highly Disappointed
I haven't played here in a few years and figured I would give it another chance. When I arrived in the clubhouse I explained a unique situation I had to the kid behind the counter, he basically blew me off and had no interest in providing good customer service (around 3:00pm on 6/15). Acted like he was doing me a favor checking me in? The over priced track was in fair condition. Very little grass on the fairways, tee boxes were bare in a lot of spots. Bunkers were horrible, like cement. Greens were good and the Rangers were very polite and friendly. Yesterday was the last time I'll drive that far to be annoyed and disappointed. Certainly not worth the money or time! Go elsewhere imo

Played On 10/01/2015An Absolute Pleasure in Every Way!
I am a teaching professional at Golf 23 in Pompton Plains, NJ. I get to play quite a bit of golf. I discovered this gem for the first time this season. You run into a few courses in a lifetime where you just feel "at home". This is one of them. The staff here made me feel like I was home for a few days to visit family. Respectful, courteous and totally nice. In the 5 rounds I played there recently, I met the nicest bunch of fellow golfers you'd ever want to meet. A different type of breed in this area. The course has a variety of great holes....some short, but they throw in an occasional 430 par 4 (#9)....and a 550 par 5 (#18) to give the better player a challenge....if you want a great golf experience in a great area with plenty of restaurants within a few blocks, this is the place for you....oh, I forgot to mention, $10 on Golfnow (with a cart). Recommend beyond oblivion !!!!!!!
Just Great!
Just finished my third session in the simulator last night......I've learned more in 3 hours here than the 40 plus rounds I've played this year. Instant feedback on your clubhead speed, launch angle etc. Patrice and Mark greet you when you arrive and make you feel right at home. I most certainly recommend this eye opening establishment....love it!
Berkshire Valley Golf Course
Played On 09/17/2014Great Track!
This Morris County course is a real gem. One of the nicer rounds I had this season. The starter DAVE is a great guy and had a wonderful sense of humor. The conditions were country club like. I'm from Passaic County and our muni's are a joke, unless your a fan of Goose droppings and getting talked down to. All municipals could learn a lesson from this place. Keep up the great work! Highly recommend!
Preakness Valley Golf Course - West
Played On 09/04/2014Very Bad Experience
Let me start by saying I've been playing golf for 25 years and have played hundreds of different tracks. Yesterday's experience was the worst I've ever had. The course was in fair condition. I spent 20 minuted this morning picking goose droppings off my clubs and golf shoes. The main problem here is the check in process. I booked my tee time with golf now and pre paid. The email clearly states "nothing due at the golf course" "paid in full". I don't carry cash. I use a debit card for everything. The 2 rude gentlemen behind the counter teamed up to do their best to make a fool out of me. They talked to me as if I was a child that was misbehaving (by the way I'm 51). They told me that if I don't come up with $5 for a deposit for whatever I would not be permitted to play that day? Remember....pre paid! Anyway to make a long story short, I had to leave THE KEYS TO MY HOUSE in order to play my pre paid round. The good news is I didn't receive a spanking from the counter fellows....lol....and I did get my keys back from a teenager cart boy after the round (pulled my house keys out of his pocket, comfortable thought). My advice, if you don't wish to relive your childhood, and you don't appreciate Canadian goose droppings, go elsewhere.
Great Gorge Golf Club - Lake/Quarry Course
Played On 04/25/2014Hidden Gem!
I played this golf course about 10 years ago and it was a cow pasture. Never went back. A lot of golfers I play with say it is one of their favorites. I thought they were nuts? Got a $15 deal on golf now and decided to give it one more chance. WOW! The conditions are like a private country club! One of the nicest golf days I had in quite some time. Fairways perfect, greens perfect, tee boxes perfect. One of the most friendly staffs I've ever seen. These 3 nines will be my new home course. Highly recommend!
Flanders Valley Golf Club - White/Blue Course
Played On 9/6/2013Wonderful day of golf in a quiet peaceful setting
Morris county golf courses are a class act. Great condition, friendly staff.....well worth the ride for me. I'm from passaic county and our courses are awful. I will gladly ride the 40 miles to play again. White to blue or red to gold...both great! Highly recommend
Sunset Valley Golf Course
Played On 5/3/2013Top Notch County Course
Sunset is a beautiful track.....challenging yet playable. The staff is very nice and helpful. Went out of their way in the pro shop to make me feel welcome. Course is in great shape, but the greens are fast! Would recommend to anyone who wants a great golf experience.
