We had an outstanding day of golf. Easy, steady pace of play, perfect weather and the course moving towards greener springlike conditions. Greens were very good, fairways started to green up, rough is still winter brown, so no issues other than the sand traps are in need of some significant work.

Played mid-morning and with 2 foursomes and we had the course to ourselves. Layout is nice, conditions are good for late January, and the weather was benign. The greens were is very good shape, the fairways were starting to green up, but there are areas that need improvement, but at the price it’s difficult to complain.

Nice layout, good staff, good value, good greens, …. Just a good place to get in a nice, relaxing round of golf. Is there room for improvement, sure, but overall it is a great value for the price.

The rough is still a pile of raw dirt, some of the fairways are poor, some are not that bad, bunkers are getting to be more consistent, and greens are very good. Overall it shows significant improvement over last January, but it still has a long way to go to warrant paying more than $25-30 a round.

The South course should be closed, trees removed and reseeded before it is reopened. There are 3 or 4 holes where they have roped off the fairways to cart traffic and are attempting to grow grass. The grass is not growing, and until it does grow and fill in, these holes are all but unplayable. It would be better to close this 9, and work to get it fully rehabbed and ready for real play.

This is a muni, so you should set your expectations accordingly. While conditions are not great, they are improving. The south course was awful, has started to show signs of improvement. There is a long way to go, but it is encouraging to see that there is finally some effort being put forth. This 9 has a great layout, but years of neglect will take years of work to bring it up to par (sorry for the pun).

Greens are in great condition. The layout is very good. Outward aesthetics are wonderful. Unfortunately, the conditions on the fairways are terrible. There are many areas with no grass at all, just sand/dirt and weeds. It seems it would not take too much to turn this into into an outstanding track, but as it sits now, it’s below average muni.

We played the South 9 first, and it is in very bad shape. More bare ground and mud than winter kill grass. It is January, so there was no expectation that conditions would be lush, it was no good. To compound this, the pace of play was very slow. We made the turn and started on the West 9, and it was like we entered a new world. Conditions were very good, given it is January in north Florida, and everyone else in front of us must have only played 9 holes, as we had the course to ourselves. Looking over at the North 9, it looked similar to the West 9, both in terms of conditions and number of players. So, if you going to play, it would pay to know what series of nines you will be assigned to play.

The staff works hard to make you visit as god as is can be. The conditions were outstanding, given the time of year, the result was a great day of golf.

Off / early season golf on the outer bank doesn’t get any better. Great course layout, conditions are better than any other area course. They had just punched and sanded the greens 2 days ago, and they were good to go. Playing here is always a treat!

Played this course once each of the last 3 years, and every time to course was exceedingly wet. Every shot hit plugged. Good layout, great staff, but no fun because of the wet, wet conditions.

Very enjoyable golf. Course is in great shape. The greens had just been punched and sanded, so it was difficult to access them. The course design is great, challenging but not too extreme. It is a design where what you see is what you get, no special, inside local knowledge required. For sample, there is plenty of water, but the fareways are not all sloped to funnel you balll into it. You have to hit it in yourself.
An additional bonus it the overall beauty surrounding the course.

Interesting layout that should keep every level of golfer entertained. Greens are in great shape. Only wish is that the scorecard or signs give better advise as to distances and location of hazards and the shape of the hole. Ended up in some tough spots because of lack of local knowledge, which is a bit frustrating. Playing the course a 2nd time, or having a full screen GPS would solve this problem.

It is difficult to find a good course where you can walk 18. This is one where you can. Yes, it is a public course, the conditions are not perfect, the rough is actually rough, etc... But you can walk!

Classic layout, that means no "trick" holes, just a good layout. Staff was friendly and helpful. Played in less than 4 hours. Course was a bit wet and soggy, but all the courses I have played from the gulf coast of Alabama to the Tampa area to Myrtle Beach have been that way this year.

Loved the course! Not only was it good golf, but the course is laid out for golf, not selling real estate. No houses or condos lining the fairways, no back on forth fairways. Just one beautiful hole followed by another.

Being able to walk, not being forced to ride a cart was an added bonus.

Challenging and interesting layout that offers narrow fairways, sand and water in just enough places to challenge without being too difficult. Tees and greens were in especially good shape. Would recommend without hesitation

Was the day after a heavy rain. It was 48 and the course was all but underwater. The greens were more like painted dirt then grass. The staff greeting us the the parking lot was great, but in the "clubhouse" they were all business and not very friendly. The clubhouse was under repair, so we could not comment on it.
Bottom line, the course was to wet to be open, (with several inches of water covering cart paths and some playing areas) and was open only to collect $ from snowbirds. Not a fun day.
