Great value!

We always play early and it's fairly crowded. It all depends on if you get stuck behind a slow group as far as pace of play. Most of the players out there move along pretty fast, but last time we got stuck behind some slow pokes. The course isn't that difficult which is good for a high handicapper like me. I usually leave feeling pretty good about my game, and don't lose many balls. The course is very well kept, and maintained for pace of play and ease of play. Love playing there.

Good greens

The fairways were like concrete which is pretty common for a Texas course in a drought. There was a nice amount of grass on the fairways though, especially around the greens. The greens were great however! We were the second group out and we were a pair. The first was a group a foursome and made us wait on 18 tee boxes which meant the pair behind us was standing on the tee box waiting for us to get out of the way all day.

If you like a challenge, this is your place.

This course is in pretty good shape. I like to go here sometimes when I want to challenge myself. If you're not driving straight, make sure you bring some extra balls. It's a lot of fun to play here, especially if you're hitting them straight off the tee!

Not a beginner's course.

This course was difficult. It wasn't the hardest I've played, but definitely very challenging. You definitely have to have good placement to shoot a decent score. If you aren't very accurate bring extra balls and don't expect to shoot a low score. The bunkers left a little to be desired. Staff was extremely friendly. Clubhouse was beautiful. I will play it again after things green-up, and give it another chance. Golfnow profile said there were GPS units, but there were not. That would have been very helpful, especially with all the hazards and elevated greens. To know your distance you had to go look at the cartpath marker or a sprinkler head. They do give you a yardage book, but GPS would be great for that course.

This course really makes you think

This course is very challenging to me. A lot of the fairways are tight, and you really have to think about your shot. It offers elevation changes from the tee box to the fairway to the super fast greens. A majority of the fairways are tree-lined on both sides. Fairway grass could be fuller, and the greens were dry and hard. Very difficult to land the ball on the green and keep it there. I really like the layout and beauty of the course, and the challenge.

Played 4/18/2018 course is rough, staff friendly, tee boxes terrible, fairways very hard like hitting off of concrete. Grees like postage stamps very hard to hold from 150 out.
I will not play again. My handicap is 9.

Easily worth the drive!

I love to go play this course any time I can. I drive past other courses on the way to Turtle Hill. You definetly wouldn't expect it to be great being out in the country, but it's beautiful. It also has some beautiful scenic holes. Check it out, it's worth the drive.

Great Value!

This is a fun course. It is very forgiving. It's hard to lose a golf ball on most of this course, as there aren't many hazard areas. The course is very well kept. It does tend to get a little on the busy side so it backs up on the tee sometimes, but it's worth it. I enjoy playing this course.
