On its way out

The course has gone from good to totally awful.
They need a new owner that doesn’t mind capital investment plus a golf course manager that knows all about golfing.
I’ve played farm courses that put this place to shame.
The fairway grass is so high it’s like playing in the rough constantly losing your ball.
There are more weeds than ever before.
The golf cart paths are extremely dangerous!
I could go on but I will not waste either my time or money playing this course again.
Oh, the restaurant consists of roller dogs if the machine is working

Great Experience

Great experience from the beginning. Staff was friendly and helpful. Course layout was extremely well designed. Restaurant food was good as was the service. My only issues, and this is nitpicking, is the work on the greens in preparation of summer rain, but by next snowbirds season it should even be better. .
Since I have a friend that’s a member I plan on playing there often.

Not again

Played the course with three other people. We were anticipating a fun day of golf at a top of the line golf course.
It didn’t take long for that to start downhill. One of the players is handicap and has trouble walking. We parked the car in the only handicap parking space before going to the drop zone. The manager was a real jerk giving this guy a hard time on not dropping the clubs off first.
Next was the check-in. We gave them our name at the desk with our tee time only to be called “reciprocals” and nothing else.
It gets better. The Marshall asked us to pick up our pace because we were falling behind. If he took the time he would’ve seen we were not the hold up but the ones in front of us were teeing off twice.
After our round we hit the restaurant only to find the waitress was on the edge of being rude.
This place should rename itself to “Snobsville”!

WOW!

It’s hard to believe this is a public course. The views are spectacular, the course is in great conditions with playing as difficult as you want it. This will be a must on our New Mexico yearly golf outing.

Clientele

This is a nice course too bad some of the people that use it don't understand golf etiquette. This is the second time that we've left either a golf club or a golf related item behind not having it turned in.
I know this is a public course but never had this same issue with other public courses. I might have to chain everything to me next time.

Change

I can't believe the change in the course from last year. The course was so bad last year that I was reluctant to play it again. Luckily I did. This course has made one incredible transformation from barley playable to one of the better courses in the area.
Like it so much that I'm taking a guest with a three handicap to play when he's in Bonita Springs.

Terrible

This course continues to go downhill. The tees are dust bowls, sand traps concrete, fairways stink and greens so bad that we had to laugh at most of the rolls. Maybe for someone who doesn't take golf serious or playing for the first time it just might work. Skip this place and find someplace else for a few bucks more.
The owner had no incentive to fix since the place is usually full. I can actually see the course converting to condos.

Change of Heart

My last rating was based on the conditions of the end last year.
However, this rating will be based on my most current game.
Everything I criticize in my previous rating is in the past. This time the course and everything about it was back to where it should be all year round. From the tees to the green the course was and is in great shape.
The club house is an awesome place to get a cold beer while chilling out after a hot day on the course..
Chuck, please keep up the great work on making this my favorite course in SWF

Go somplace else

Usually play this course from October to May and never saw the course look this awful. Recommendation: Skip playing this course until they improve the condition from awful to at least good. If they increase the price, which you know they will, don't waist either your time or money.

Loved it

This was my first time playing Copperleaf and loved. Most courses are under repairs in preperation for the onslaught of snow birds coming back down. This course is maintained to a high degree all year round. The golf carts all have GPS with overview of hole taking the guess work out of the game. Stopped at the restaurant after 18 and welcomed by staff as though we were long time members. Looking forward to playing again.

In need of

Course is long no matter where you play. No frills no thrills at this course. You load and unload your clubs, pick-up your cart with the place locking up at 5, before you finish your round.
People are friendly and helpful so no problem there.
Would play again, but before the snow-birds reek havoc on the course.

Disappointed

I've played this course several times over the years and enjoyed each and every time. However, I recently played it with friends and was so embarrassed that I reimbursed them for the cost of the round.
The tee boxes were not set up, the grass needed to be cut and the grass needed watering.
It looked like they didn't care about the non-snowbirds that continue to play here.
