Hidden Gem

First time at this course. Played with my son who is a 13 handicap, I am a 22. Played the blue tees so my son could get a good workout. Course is very beautiful. Customer service is some of the best I have seen, especially the pro shop staff. Got called in due to lightening but was able to get back out. With the exception of a slow 2 couple foursome, we played very fast. We moved around the foursome and were behind a twosome that played pretty fast. Interesting greens, not hard but needed to be paid attention to in order have a good put. Course is in beautiful condition and reminds me of many of the upper northern Minnesota Courses in some areas.

Harder than it looks

This course never gets the respect it deserves. Even though it's a 9 hole course, it is very difficult if played from the appropriate tees. The par 3 on hole number 4 might be the most frustrating hole I have ever played as the carry over the water never seems to be what it appears. Staff here are always friendly. Play can be slow on weekends due to incorrect tee use by players. The Blue tees are much harder than they appear and often my son and I see people playing them that should not be there. I also believe the pro there has stated that if you can break par from the Black tees he will give you a free round. I highly recommend playing this course if you like to walk as it is laid out well for walkers.

Nice course for beginners, slow players

This course is always kept in excellent condition. Only ongoing concerns is the slow play and geese droppings on the western holes. Numerous people I know used this course to learn to play on and my son and I use it to practice our approach shots using the tee boxes as if it was our 2nd shot. Play can be extremely slow with young kids, beginners or poor players, but if you go there with that in mind, it is a nice underated course.

Cold but fun

Great course, in excellent shape for the bad spring weather here in MN. Went from sleet on the tee box on a long par 5 to warm sunshine on the green, so odd round to say the least. Just a great all around course.

Played as a reward for my son

From start to finish, professional service at it's best. Staff was very friendly, course was fun to play, pace was excellent. Although a bit more than other courses in the area, the customer service made it worth the cost.

Only issue is slowwwwww female 5-some on date of our tee time

I have found this to be my favorite course to play in the Brainerd area on a regular basis. I have only had one complaint and that is when they allow a very slow 5-some of women to play in front of a 4-some that is 20 handicap average. What should have been a 3.5 hour round stretched into a almost 5 hour round. I am very surprised as up to that time this was the most enjoyable course to play in the area. This ruined what was to be a fantastic golf round. It is unacceptable for a course of this caliber to allow this, especially on a busy day where tee times were booked all day. Not only were we slowed down but the 2 foursomes behind us had the same issue. Also, the slowwwww women group would not allow us to play through, another serious offense that should have been addressed by the course.
