Paul's Valley Municipal Golf Course
Played On 06/30/2016Great public course!
Booked a "hot deal" for this course and ran late. Called the course to inform them I was running behind and would not show up for my tee time. The lady at the pro shop was extremely friendly and assured me that they would still honor our deal. I've played this course several times. You get what you pay for, like anything else. If this course was immaculate, the prices would be substantially higher. It is "on par" with a lot of the public, municipal courses I've played, and at times has been in better shape that some of the "executive" courses I've played over the years. Course is about 45 minutes from my house or I'd play it more frequently, due to it being in better condition and a better value that the local offering(especially with the hot deals). Carts and paths are fairly well maintained, I've never had doubts about making it around the course in one of their carts. Terrain is relatively flat, with wide open fairways for the most part, and allow a safe "gamble" on some holes. Fairways were a little shaggy, and a few greens had some issues, but overall it was still manageable. Two holes have water hazards that come into play depending on shot accuracy/selection. This is not a PGA professionally manicured course, so if you go in with realistic expectations, you should enjoy your round. Would recommend this course to any beginner/intermediate/recreational golfer. Easy access off I-35.
