Played On 09/22/2017How About a Marshal on the Course?
The starter has got to get control of how he lets people go out. We had a five some two head of us. We had a twosome in front, we were a threesome, with a single behind us and a twosome behind him. Of course we all ended up getting jammed behind the five some by the seventh hole and it stayed that way all the way through the 18th. A marshal has got to be put out on the course to keep things moving. The starter has got to stop these five some groups and group singles and doubles together to maintain efficiency on the course. Yes it is a public course - but this type of action is just ineptitude.

I have played this course a number of times. The course keeps improving little by little, but it is still built on a landfill so there is not much more they can do. There was a real back on the first tee today - but the starter did an excellent job of breaking up the back up while still getting people out as close to their start time as possible. Very impressed with his handling of the situation. He also makes sure that walk ins get out as well. Job well done!

This course continues to be one of my favorite in the desert. It starts with the staff who are very friendly and always willing to help with information and directions. The course is made up of a North, South and West course. The rotations vary from day to day, but whatever rotation you might play, the course is a both challenging but enjoyable regardless of the type of golfer you are. It plays well for every level. It is challenging, but forgiving. I look forward to playing this course every time I am in the desert and I highly recommend it to all.

I have had the pleasure of playing this course off and on for the last 8 years. The course continues to be well maintained and well worth playing. The staff is always friendly. The course plays well and allows for the occasional blips by having open areas right where you start to get in trouble with a slice or hook. I look forward to playing this course whenever I am in the desert.

If you can play 18 holes of straight down the middle - this is the course for you. But if you are an average golfer that loses control on a slice, a hook or even a draw in the slightest - avoid this course. It is tight and has absolutely no forgiveness. Houses line both sides of every hole. The slightest blip and you are in someones yard - or even worse - their house. I do not recommend this for the average run of the mill golfer. But if you have a controlled game - this will challenge you and make for an interesting day. The course however is on the shortside in yardage.

Played On 08/18/2017A Lack of Common Golf Courtesy & Poor Management
I have played this course before a few times. This round found the course in worse condition that the Links at Victoria and that one is built on a landfill. The course was hard as a rock - the greens were in horrific condition and that is before we get to the people that have no regard or courtesy for other golfers. People left the sand traps unraked after plodding through the middle of them - never mind a rake was available where they walked back out. They never repaired the marks on the green. They stepped all around each hole creating a mass of unevenness on just about every every approach to the pin. Then there are people who are playing in the wrong fairway due to an errant shot that think they can play their shot ignoring the players that are playing the proper fairway. And not once but on multiple occasions. And lastly there was the fivesome in front of us where each player took more time lining up their putts than 3 pros combined. Obviously a lot of money or just too much bragging rights were on the line. Their action caused three holes to open in front of them and a three foursome back up behind us. Seriously, if you want to play that type of golf - do it at a country club and not on a public course where there is already heavy usage. And what was even worse - no course marshal out on the course to prevent these types of events from occurring. So who is to blame? The people operating the course or the players or is the blame on both? This place needs a serious management wake up call and management enforcement of the rules and basic common courtesy and safety.

I have played this course several times over the last four years. It is a comfortable course. It is okay for the experienced golfer and the neophyte. The staff is great. The snack shop serves a great breakfast burrito. The course is nicely laid out and does not present many problems, except for well placed traps. Stay out of the rough.
And watch out for the 18th hole. Shoot short and you are in the water. Take a short cut and end up in the water. If your first short is good you still have 150 - 200 yards over the water to the hole. Nicely laid out and challenging.
A great course for all levels.

I have had the pleasure of playing here multiple times over the last four years. It is a challenging course but still well within a once a month golfers abilities. Of course playing in the summer means heat and very few people on the course - which means a quick round of golf. Since there is usually a breeze in the summer - it keeps you relatively comfortable. The holes require you to play in the middle. The roughs are rough - lots of sand and desert scrub. Well worth the time and money for any golfer regardless of ability.

Played On 09/03/2014Smart Golf
This is the first time I have played this course and did not really know what to expect. The staff from the outset were helpful and friendly. Being the summer time everyone in the Valley are relaxed when it comes to golf. No rush, no push. The course was well maintained for the first part of September. The greens had been worked on recently and made a difference in the run of the ball. The fairways were clean and well maintained. Most importantly you had to play smart golf or you could easily get in trouble with the long stretches of sand and long stretches of water hazards. They were well placed to eat the best drive or your slight pull to the left where the water hazards were running parallel to the hole. You just couldn't get up and blast away or it was going to be sandy or wet day depending on your shot. Overall I would gladly play this course again and would recommend it to anyone wanting to have fun but challenges along the way.

The staff was great. The starter on the Valley course was extremely helpful in providing insight on how to play the course, what to watch out for and how the greens were running.
Overall a great course to play. Forgiving in a lot of areas. You still had to watch out for water hazards and bunkers but it was still a pleasant course overall.

This course is always in poor condition. You would think that the county would getting around to improving the condition of the course, but feel it is better to collect fees and not put it back in the course.

This is a well maintained and expertly laid out course. The bunkers and water hazards are placed where most average golfers will get themselves in trouble, so you need to play smart. It is definitely a thinking person's course. The bunkers around the greens are very protective of the green and makes you plan your shots carefully. I would gladly return for the challenge.

This course is well laid out and a pleasure to play. The grounds are well maintained and the holes provide an average golfer the pleasure of playing the game, rather than dodging water and sand traps. It is a forgiving course for any golfer.

I have enjoyed playing the Rancho Las Palmas golf courses. This is a 27 hole course with multiple variations so you can play combinations that make the course interesting and fun to play. It presents challenges and a lot of ups and downs as you transit the various holes. The staff is to be commended. Every time I have been there they have made me feel as though I was a regular there and are always helpful.
Thank you for the review and feedback. We are so happy you had a great experience on the course and we appreciate you taking the time to leave your comments. Please let us know if you ever need anything and please come back and see us again soon!
