Streamsong Resort - Red Course
Played On 05/28/2017Unique Landscape on a Challenging Course
I played as a single walker carrying my bag. Drove in from Anna Maria Island which was about an hour or so. Get gas before you leave civilization because I only saw one option on the way in. They only accept reservations via there website for 2+ golfers so you have to call and book as a single. Over the phone they wanted to pair me up with another twosome even though there were open tee times. I preferred to play as a single so I called back the day before to move my tee time which was no problem. If you are a single and want to book online you can via teeoff.com. I payed $125 as an out of state player and thoroughly enjoyed the course. When I arrived I parked in the lot on the left and walked up to the checkstand by the clubhouse where they tagged my bag and took it out to the putting green while I checked in. Range balls are included and they have a guy that will drive you out to the range in a cart and back which was nice. I carried my bag but would probably use one of the pushcarts they had available if I played again (Not sure if they charge for them). Walking through that unique landscape was amazing. It was very hot but they had a ranger on a golf cart that came by 3 times or so to offer water & cold towels and give me the ins and outs of the course. On the 3rd tee you get a great view of the new black course and the clubhouse being built. I grabbed a BBQ at the shack between 8 & 9 which was very good but I wouldn't count on that as your lunch, just a snack size. I had a very memorable time and loved the biarritz green on 16. I even ran into a baby fawn leaving 15 tee. They do have a bye hole (19th) that i forgot to play. Course condition was excellent and I hit a lot of fairways which helped my score. Some of the bunkers are intimidating so they must be avoided. I would love to come back and play the Blue and the Black one day soon!

Brookstone Golf & Country Club
Played On 09/19/2016Nice Layout, Drivable Par 4 Is Excellent
Played the course in a charity event and the course conditions were excellent. Very fast and true greens and pristine fairways. I loved the drivable Par 4 since there are so many different ways to play it. Would love to play it again. My only complaint is none of the holes are numbered so that made a shotgun start a bit difficult. It is a private course so I assume the members all know the layout but for a first timer it's a guess. It was a great day of golf with friends!
Halifax Plantation
Played On 08/12/2016Well Manicured Course / Played Fast
Played in the afternoon and staff was very friendly and welcoming. Course was in great shape and very fun to play. Greens rolled nicely and didn't catch a group until the 9th hole. Would definitely play again if I'm back in the area.
LPGA International - Jones Course
Played On 08/12/2016Excellent Condition / Fun Round
If you sign up for the LPGA International mailing list on their website you can play a free round of golf during your birthday month. I did just that and enjoyed a well manicure course. Fairways were perfect and the greens were in good shape. I had previously played the Hills Course and if I had to choose between the two I would play the Hills as it has a bit more character.
LPGA International - Hills Course
Played On 07/22/2016Lush Fairways & Fast Greens
The staff was very nice at check-in. Driving range token was $6 for 1 (30 Balls) or $10 for 2 (60 Balls). Very nice range and practice area. I was told to use the practice green near the first hole which was more the speed of the greens than the one by the range. Course was in excellent shape with lush fairways and fast greens. Played with someone who knew the course which really helped because they knew the hazards that you couldn't see from the tee. The greens were pretty small and a miss into the thick Bermuda was tough to get up and down. Stay right of the tree on 18! Malcolm's at the Turn had a great hot dog. Would love to play this course again and again.

Jekyll Island Golf Club - Pine Lakes Course
Played On 07/19/2016Excellent Conditions Very Impressed
I have played at many of the St Simons Island area courses but never on Jekyll until playing Pine Lakes. I was very impressed with the course conditions and the greens. The thick Bermuda was a challenge if you missed the fairway or green. Greens were rolling beautifully. I also played Indian Mounds the day before and Pine Lakes has a better layout plus Indian Mounds was still recovering from aeration. I saw over 20 deer and other wildlife throughout the course which was amazing. Staff in the Pro Shop were very friendly and I had a club sandwich in the grill area which was great. I was pleasantly surprised and will visit again!
Southern Hills Golf Club
Played On 08/27/2015Excellent As Always!
Love playing Southern Hills. The course is always in great shape and is challenging but fair. Greens are top notch.
Sea Palms Golf & Tennis Resort
Played On 08/04/2015Dramatically Improved!
I had seen some good reviews lately for Sea Palms so figured I would give it a try. In the past when I have played the course the conditions were not the best. It has now been sold and the conditions have vastly improved. The course is fairly short even from the back tees but I really enjoyed it. The fairways were in excellent shape and the greens were perfect and rolled true and fast. It didn't even seem like the same course I had played in years past. Be aware that the driving range is across the street. You can drive the cart over there after you check in. You have to hit off of mats but it does the trick. I will be back again.
The Club at Lake Sinclair
Played On 02/08/2015Nice Greens, Tight Layout, Thin Fairways
I figured I'd give this course a try again since it had been about a year since I played it. The greens were in great shape. Receptive on approach shots and rolled excellent. My main problem with this course is the layout. It has a lot of tight fairways and blind tee shots and approach shots, which is not something I really enjoy. Seems like they just stuck the holes in where they could throughout the hilly terrain. The fairways were dormant of course with very tight lies. Also the driving range is irons only.
International City Golf Club
Played On 06/14/2014Rock Hard Greens & Bad Layout
I normally don't give subpar reviews but I feel like International City deserves this one. First of all the older gentleman in the Pro Shop was about as unfriendly as he could be. Now I don't expect much but this guy was flat out rude. I have played the course a few times and it has probably been a year since I had been there. The layout is pretty bad on the front. A lot of converging points, overhanging power lines and just not very well thought out. The real problem with the course is the ROCK HARD greens! Before when I left I thought well maybe they just need some work and they will be better next time. That assumption has been proven wrong every time. It's borderline unplayable they are so hard and the top dressing of sand on most of them didn't help. I don't think there is much they can do to make them more receptive honestly beside tearing them up and redoing them. I have given this place a few chances but I won't be back. Go to the Landings down the road, their greens are 10 times better. The practice and driving range area is good though so if you just want to hit balls it's good for that.
Bear's Best Atlanta
Played On 03/03/2014Really Enjoyable Round
This was my first time playing Bear's Best and I really enjoyed it. Course was in great condition and I loved feeling like I was playing on those famous holes. I will be back to play again!
The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort
Played On 02/15/2014Excellent SSI Golf
I enjoy playing King & Prince whenever I visit the Golden Isles. The course is always in great shape and is a fun challenge. Greens are fast with very little grain so putts roll true. I would never pay over a $100 for a round personally, but if you can get a hot deal it is very much worth the money. They also have a very nice range and practice green and chipping area with bunker. Some holes extend out into the marsh which is a nice addition. If your trying to decide between King & Prince and Sea Palms play K & P in my opinion. Another great option is Sanctuary Cove just off the Island. Enjoy!
Play Every Time I Visit The Golden Isles
I always enjoy playing Sanctuary Cove. Excellent layout and true greens. If your in the Golden Isles it is worth the drive. You can get great rates through the Hot Deals as well. Much better than Sea Palms in my opinion at a better rate. They have some good food in the clubhouse too.
Eagle's Brooke Golf and Country Club
Played On 7/12/2013Very Challenging But Fun Course!
This was my first time playing Eagles Brooke and I really enjoyed the layout. When you first arrive there is a huge clubhouse on the right that a previous owner had built and according to the marshal that was very friendly they are in the process of starting construction of a new clubhouse overlooking the 18th green . Evidently the original clubhouse was not sold with the rest of the course when new owners took over in January. So the temporary pro shop is in a mobile trailer, but don't let that steer you away from this course. Most of the holes wander through the woods with no homes or lots in sight, which I loved. The cart girl was friendly and very good looking and had sandwiches/beer/gatorade etc for reasonable prices. Definitely worth trying if your in the area!
Heritage Oaks Golf Club
Played On 10/25/2012Unique & Challenging Course
This is a unique course that has many various hazards (Sawgrass, Sand, Water) and was in great shape. You can tell a lot effort has been put into the course and while it is challenging it also was very fun. The GPS in the cart was a nice addition and the staff was very friendly. If your looking for something different that your run of the mill course this is it.
Thank you Kaiser for the review and feedback. We are so happy you are able to take advantage of the Birthday present for a free round at LPGA. Please come back and see us again soon and Happy Birthday!
