Homestead Farms Golf Club
Played On 08/21/2022A nice course gone bad.
I've been playing this course since it was built. It used to be well maintained all though they never punched & sanded the fairways so it is not a good winter course. But now it is in a sad state of disrepair. Tee boxes are mostly dirt. Greens are barely puttable. Irrigation pipes are broken all over the course so some fairways are green and some are dead. Bunkers have no sand in them and are a mix of weeds & hard pan dirt. I won't come back until they spend some money and restore this course.

Sadly, Homestead golf course has steadily gone downhill for the last 10 years. Little to no course maintenance. Despite very dry weather the fairways hadn't been mown in some time. Even the tee boxes were in rough shape. Greens are bumpy & slow. Bunkers are a blend of dirt & rocks. Not sure if ownership isn't willing to spend money or if they can't hire workers. The rates are low but you definitely get what you pay for.
Canyon Lakes Golf Course
Played On 05/09/2015excellent conditioned course
Very nice course. Great routing and excellent greens. My only complaint was the green on #12. The slope was ridiculous. The only thing missing was a clown's mouth and a windmill! The back pin location is just stupid.
Loomis Trail Golf Club
Played On 02/08/2015very good winter conditions
We played on February 8 and, despite heavy rain the previous 4 days, the course was very playable. The greens were a little slow but understandably as there was no way they could have got the mowers on them. The fairways have clearly benefited from the fall punch & sanding. The course routing is excellent and aesthetically it is beautiful! One of the best walking courses in the area.
Kayak Point Golf Course
Played On 06/21/2014Beautiful golf course!
This course requires accuracy and the ability to work the ball off the tee, very few straight holes. A couple holes were a little too tricky but very fun overall. Lots of severe slope and large gaps from green to tee made for a difficult walk. Very unique routing, each hole seemed to head in a different direction. I would highly recommend this course and I will definitely play it again.
Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club
Played On 06/15/2014Awesome course
Semiahmoo is my favorite course in Whatcom County. Unfortunately it doesn't hold up well in the winter as it gets very soft. But I just played it on Father's Day with my son and the conditions were excellent. The greens were fast yet receptive and the fairways were healthy and firm. I highly recommend this course for spring, summer & fall play.
