Palmetto Hills Golf Club
Played On 01/01/2024Course has great bones, just needs some more TLC
I can tell this place has had some improvements and effort put into it recently. With a continuation of this effort, the layout can really shine more. Definitely will be back as conditions improve in the spring

I’ve played this course several times, but haven’t in a few years.
Course is in GREAT shape, and the staff is awesome. Everything in the scope of the operations and upkeep is fantastic., and 100% recommend to folks.
The design of the course is the only drawback to me. Very tough Par 3s. 2 of the 5 par threes required a 200+ yard carry, and the wind was no help. It just takes some fun out when having to hit 3 wood (and two of the gentlemen in our group had to hit drivers) on par 3s even after stepping up 2 tees for those specific holes.
But again, golf course in great shape and staff is awesome, so kudos to them!

Played On 06/25/2020Nice layout, but I should’ve read the reviews
A nice layout, but I realize after reading some prior reviews I am not the first one to have paid full price, only to be told on the first tee “yeah y’all aren’t getting in 18”. Me and my buddy are fast golfers, so we could potentially play 18 in 3 hours (5:00 tee time, we were informed we had to be off the course by 8). However, while standing on the tee at 5:00, the starter decided to let a single go in front of us, who decided to play two golf balls with no intention of letting us play through. Ended up only getting in 15 holes, which was very disappointing.
For someone who gets off work and likes to tee off around 5PM, I will be playing other places in the future that will allow me to get in 18, or at least don’t charge full price knowing golfers won’t finish their round.
The Club at Savannah Quarters
Played On 06/22/2020Played in a Georgia State Amateur Qualifier here, and the conditions were immaculate. Another fantastic Greg Norman layout, one that has wide fairways but is quite challenging on the approach. If given the opportunity to play again I will return
Bear's Best Atlanta
Played On 06/10/2020I absolutely love this golf course. The only downside is that it seems like every time I go it always rains! However, I will continue to play here. The facilities are great, the layout is great. The only advice I would give is just go by the gps, because the scorecard yardage differs from the yardage book markers because I think they have added some tees throughout the years. From the Gold tees it can stretch out a good bit, maybe pushing 7100.
St. Marlo Country Club
Played On 06/08/2020First time playing this track, and I was impressed. Have always been a fan of Dennis Griffith courses, and this was no different. Tee to green this course was in pristine shape.
The only downside I would say is the greens. Several of the greens had geese crap and geese feeding on the green while trying to play approach shots, so it took some time to scatter them off and clean the land mines that might be between the ball and the hole. The greens were a bit slow but very true rolling.
Fantastic! Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Bear's Best Atlanta.
