New management has been making a difference

Have been playing this course off and on for four years and it has experienced difficulties in the past, but it is on the mend and many improvements have been made to upgrade the course. New management has shown that it cares about the course and it definitely shows. Currently the pro shop is undergoing updating with new ceramic flooring. All things considered I give this course a B+, and with all the rain that we have been getting this summer it can get better. Fine wine takes time to better and so does a golf course. You just have to give it a chance and this management is putting in the money and effort to bring it back. This is a tight tree-lined course with strategic trees, doglegs, and obstacles that will test you. It's a fun course to play, doesn't cost you an arm and a leg to play, has a friendly staff, and a great little restaurant with good inexpensive food.

Challenging course layout

Got to admit that it is tough playing in the winter here with all the snow-birds. Pace of play can be somewhat slow at times and you have to have patience or it will wreck your game. Course is in amazing shape after the hurricane; greens are excellent, fairways and tee boxes are good, and the rough is well maintained with exception of falling leaves. Course staff are very knowledgeable and helpful and willing to help in any way (course ranger returned a ball for me that I shanked into the woods). Course layout makes for a challenging round with well placed trees next to tee boxes or in fairways and strategically placed sand traps (traps are well maintained). All in all, this is a great place to enjoy the day. And Golf Now makes it a great value round.

Excellent course layout

Greens get an A and are in excellent condition; fairways and tee boxes are C's because of the recent drought and lack of rain; rough is well maintained and cleared of debris; golf carts are new and gas operated with plenty of zip. Staff are efficient and helpful and make it a pleasure to play this course and, the clubhouse is a nice rest stop after a round for drinks and food. They do shotgun starts on weekends and the pace of play moves along. We had a threesome this last time and finished 18 in 3 1/2 hours and never felt rushed, pushed, or held up. The course has a nice layout and you will enjoy yourself there.

Unusual format with challenging layout

As a first time player at Trilogy I found the layout somewhat difficult to navigate. They actually have three separate 6 hole formats that can be combine to play a complete round. As a group we found the signage for holes to be somewhat difficult to follow until we figured out the configuration. The course itself is in pristine condition, well manicured and kept. There are a ton of monster sand traps around the greens and along the fairways to keep you honest. Greens rolled true on puts, but hole placements required good iron shots in as pins were set in many cases near bunkers. You can walk or ride the course, which is rare in this area of Florida. Staff at Trilogy go out of their way to satisfy your needs. They provide you with ice and bottled water before you go out on the course, and even had a cart out while we were playing replacing water for free. From the pro shop assistant to the cart guy everything was a first class operation. We had a Hot-Deal on this play for $12 and was skeptical before we got there at what we might find. Were we ever surprised. If you're not afraid to play a different format, you have to try this place. We are glad we did, and we will be going back soon. A fun course to play, yet very tough on some of the long par 5's.

Course improving with better maintenance

A tight course with some challenging characteristics that doesn't get heavy play because of it's prior history of below par maintenance. This has changed and the course is a pleasure to play. Greens are in good shape for the most part and fairways are in mostly good shape. Played her many times this summer and fall for $10 and enjoyed every round. Staff are very pleasant and helpful and let you go out early whenever they can. Worth the trip to play.
