San Vicente Golf Resort
Played On 11/19/2018What a Dump!
I played this course this past November. All 18 greens had cancer. 50% of every green had large bare sports. Some of the greens - well, you could not call them greens as they were brown, basically dirt. I had not played this course for narely 25 years; however, at that time, it was in pristine condition. The only hope for this course is that they tear out every green and build them from scratch. I am writing this review 6 months later as I forgot to write it when I returned home from a short stay in Ramona. I am also planning another short stay in Ramona and again will be looking to play a round of golf.
Perhaps they have completed the rebuild of the greens by now. Otheriwise the 45 dollars they charged me was wasted. In the condition that I played this course, I would not recommend it to a sheep or cattle rancher.
Shorecliffs Golf Club
Played On 08/30/2016Too Tight
For the money $34 per person, which included the cart, it was okay. However, there is little or no forgiveness on this course. If you do not hit your shots consistently up the middle, then as Tony Soprano would say, Fuh-ged-a-bout it! Some holes are lined with steep hills and you would have to be a billy goat to even think about finding an errant shot. I think that I am a fairly consistent senior golfer (82 - 92); however, even playing from the forward tees, I lost four balls. If you are a below average golfer, don't play this course as you will end up eating your clubs for lunch.
The Golf Club of California
Played On 4/30/2013Nice course to play.
I recently played The Golf Club of California the other day. The course was in OK shape but needed a lot more growin'. The course is spread out all over the place. You could have lunch between holes while ridiing in your cart, They are that spread apart. The fairways were hard and there wasn't much grass, The greens had been punched within the last week or 10 days and we had to invoke the "Waffle Iron Rule" (max two putts). There are a few holes where the pin placement is outright silly. At least three of the greens are outright silly especially the one with a sandtrap is the middle of the green. Speaking of the traps they had nice sand and were well maintained. I would like to play this course one more time in a couple of months to see if fairway and greens growth makes a difference in my opinion. I thought that based on the condition of the course it was overpriced and there was no "Senior Rate". My golf buddies and I can play a lot more courses in Temecula that are just as nice if not better and for a lot less money.
Indian Canyons Golf Resort - South Course
Played On 4/11/2013Great Course for all level of golfers
I have played both of the Indian Canyon courses and have found them to always be in excellent condition. My son and I played there and the South Course was impeccable. We totally enjoyed our round. There are five tee boxes on each hole. My son played it from the tips while I played it from the whites.
Thank you PadVcd45575 for your review and feedback. It can be quite the challenging course and we apologize if you lost a lot of balls out there. Please let us know if you ever need anything and come back and see us again soon.
