This course is a joke

I am so glad I waited for a hot deal to try this course (and at 1/2 price I still paid too much). I felt bad thinking that most of the golfers I was stuck behind had paid full-price.

The only positive thing I can say is that the greens were in good shape and the bunkers were neatly raked.

It in stuck in around this condo village, there were exactly 2 holes I felt comfortable hitting driver on (from the very tips).

The parking lot was not paved and it was a free for all to find a spot. The "proshop" is a 1/2 office trailer with a guy in a folding chair with little bags of tees for sale.

The few yardages I checked weren't close (100 yard marker on one hole measure 80 yards on my gps).

And the pace of play was excruciating. There are some holes where you do not only have to wait for the group in front of you to clear the green before you hit, you have to wait for the to tee off too because the tee is so close to the green.

After playing 9 holes I came around to number 1 again and saw a foursome about 20 yards beyond the ladies tee on the 240 yard par 4 and just gave up and left.

Sorry to hear about your negative experience at WGC. It is a very nice 9 holes course that is in super shape. It is a little pricey , but when the club house is finished and all the amenities are in place, it will be a great destination. Not all course are made for everyone, but this place is really enjoyed by the majority of players. They have made some changes and pace of play is much improved. The staff is extremely friendly and want everyone to enjoy their round. Hopefully your next experience here is better if you play again.

Well worth the price

Challenging greens (lots of slope) but very consistent, fast and smooth. Wide fairways on most holes with room to recover if you went wide on most. Will play again.

They don't honor you reservation if you are a single

I showed up at 6:25 for a 6:56 tee time I booked as a single. I go in to pay and the guy in the proshop said I couldn't have booked as a single, they don't do that. I showed him my confirmation with my phone and he had no answer other than "you can't play as a single." I stood there in front of him in the pro shop for 10 minutes, finally a member of the 6:40 group came in and said they had a no show - your welcome to play with us. I go out and get in the cart and no score card so I go back in the pro shop :"what's the problem now" is the greeting I get. Whatever, I go out and play a nice front nine with the three guys I pared up with. We come around to the 10th tee and there are three groups waiting. We were the second group at 6:40 and came around in just under 2 hours. They put 3 groups of ladies off the back in front of us. It took 3 hours to play the back.. We had a full group wait on every hole. The conditions were pretty good, but the staff was rude and the round was ruined by the groups off the back in front of us. I'll never play there again, but it doesn't matter because they wouldn't honor my tee time anyway.

Way overpriced for the conditions

I played as a single and got paired up with another. The course is challenging, even more so because the carts do not allow you to drive on most fairways even though the conditions were dry with no obvious damp spots. The carts would shut down automatically if you drove onto the fairway on many of the holes. It made for more walking and a longer round than necessary. The greens were fast and still a little bumpy from a past punching. The fairways were ok, but the real disgrace were the bunkers. This course is littlered with bunkers both around the greens and in the fairways, but the seemed to forget to put any sand in them. For the price you pay to play here I expect nice fluffy sand or at least clean sand. There were so many rocks I felt like I was at a $40 muni. I payed a discounted rate through golfnow and even at that I would no go back. Anyone that pays full price to pay here is bound to be disaapointed.

What a dump

First off, I had a 6:00 tee time. No one showed up to open the pro shop until 6:10.

The green were terrible lots of ball spots, same with the fairways and tee boxes but at least they had grass.

Fairways full of bumps and sink holes to the loin where you can split the fairway with a drive and still lose your ball.

Trash cans on every tee overflowing with beer cans.

I get it, it's a muni - the worst one I have played in a whole.

If I had paid $30 it wouldn't have bothered me so much, but I paid $49 plus golf now fees. (Which is their normal rate - no discount for early morning or golf now).

Don't waste your time or money on this one.

Fast greens, nice shape after a rainy weekend

There are still a few soggy spots on the fairways but over all the course is in great shape and the greens were mostly smooth and faster then I expected

Disappointing

I love the layout of the course, but the green were horrendous.

I know it is early and it was wet, but most of the greens had 2" wide ribs all the way across with some bald spots to boot which made putting a bumpy mess.

Some tees were temporary which I can live with this early, but the greens were a left over from a bad punching or something last fall.

Hopefully they will grow out and be rolled out smooth but I would hesitate to spend the weekend rate to play again.

Nice little course

Old style course, tight fairways and dog-legs with enough hills to make it interesting.

Must have tremendous drainage as I played in the rain after a terrible winter that has left many course in the area a swamp but not Bay Pointe.

Greens were in terrific shape, smooth and fast even in the rain.

Will definitely play again.
