Although it was cold in the desert we still managed 18 holes in about 4.5 hours. Greens were a little rough and inconsistent

Course was in good condition. Serveral holes were roped off and we were not allowed to ride on fairway. Greens were fantastic. Went to the lounge for a drink afterwards and could not get served. There were workers that seemed to have better things to do than wait on us. There was only a total,of four tables with people at them. . We left with no drinks.

The fairways were in excellent condition. The sand traps need work -sand for sure. We were unable to play out of traps. On course workers need some instruction. Totally ignored the fact we were playing. We understand they need to cut the grass and we willing to cooperate but felt they needed to do the same

Golf course was in excellent condition Staff was very friendly. In fact, we were looking for a lost ball and one of the greens personnel offered to give us one that he had. We appreciated that but really didn’t need it. Just enjoyed the fact it was offered to us. The starter was very helpful, with course information. We got lost on two holes as they weren’t easily identified.

Course was in beautiful condition. Challenging. Not a course for beginners.

Greens and fairways - never a level lie. Fun. Course Marshall? Said we were a hole behind so we picked up on the hole (the couple the course paired us with were newbies) and a hole later the Marshall told us we were 10 minutes ahead of time.! We were not happy and confused.

The greens were very slow. The golf ball would stop going down hill. No marshal on course. We played as a twosome and took 4.75 hours to play. Clubs were supposed to be cleaned at end of round (for which I gave them a tip). They were not touched grass on all clubs. Was disappointed that I had to come home and clean my own clubs (no tip for me). This is the last time I will even let any of the courses offer to clean the clubs. Bad experience on several courses.

The valley course was challenging and fun. Some hazards not seen from the tee box. Fast greens but true. Lots of side hill lies. Sand was consistent. Will play again.
Escena Golf Club
Played On 3/20/2013Challenging but fair
The course was in very good condition. Grounds crew were very considerate. Unreasonable Marshall. We played front 9 in under 2 hours and he rudely asked us to pick up our pace. We were never holding anyone up. We never saw the group behind us. Tee time was after daybreak. Absolutely no reason for rudeness.
I must have submitted before completing my review. It was a 4 star not 1. Apologies
I have lived in the desert for many years and played most of the courses. There are some problems that seem to be common among many of the courses open to the public. Sand traps often were never lined resulting in dirt mixing with the remaining sand. Usually, there is a low level of loose sand, while underneath it is hard. Also, the areas surrounding the cups are convex, which results in making good putts drift off line. I also, do not approve of short rough that negates the reward of hitting a drive down the middle.
