Bridgemill

This course will have you reaching for every type of shot you have in your bag. With four different tee's to choose from this course can be as fun/difficult as you want to make it. The course at Bridgemill offers just about every type of hazard Georgia has to offer, sand, water, elevation, and tight fairways at times. They offer a pretty decent selection at the snack bar on weekends as well, so if you get hungry making your way towards the 10th dont hesitate to stop. They have very nice facilities and staff is usually very friendly. I dont have much bad to say about this course, other than I wish I could play here more often. The only "con" is the pace of play, which that varies day to day depending on the caliber of people in front of you.

This is a must play course in the metro ATL area. It offers every type of shot you can think of and has a lot of risk/reward situations. With four different tee options it does not require you to play out of your comfort zone. This course has a lot of rolling hills and a decent amount of fairway/green side bunkers to challenge you through out. I would have to say that the "island" par 3 is the most memorable hole on the course, which was very enjoyable. The only "con" I would mention was the pace of play. This was the first time I've played here and it took a little over 5 hours to play, but I hear that its not uncommon for this to happen. I can't wait to play this course again in the summer, because I know the condition will be much better.

The white course was in great shape. The tees and fairways were some of the best I've ever played on. The greens were nice and soft but still relatively fast. What makes this course so challenging is all the bunkers, if your distance isn't spot on when going for the green you will more than likely be in a bunker. What makes this course so fun is the wide open fairways with most greens surrounded by hazards. You have a good bit of water to play over as well. Other than a couple tee boxes the majority of the course is pretty flat. Overall, this course will force you to use every shot and club in your bag.

I wish I could say the same thing about the blue course, but unfortunately it wasn't in nearly as good of shape as the white course. I didn't enjoy the layout as much either. Most holes are wide open grip it and rip it. I just didn't think this course has as much character to it. The greens were pretty beat up and extremely firm. Teeing off from a good 30-40 feet of elevation with a 9i or PW didn't even leave a ball mark and definitely not a divot. When I go back I will probably not play the blue course again. I would much rather play the white course twice.

The layout was decent with some nice elevation changes and dog-leg lefts/rights mixed through out. I thought it was pretty short playing from the backs on most. I would say that over half of the greens were just terrible, and by this I mean more than half of the putting surface was just sand and/or scalped with no consistency. However, the fairways and tee boxes were in decent shape. They definitely needed the ranger to push the field a little bit. I don't remember every hole, but hole 12 comes to mind, its 80 or 90 yards from the back tees with what looks like a sewage run-off that you hit over on to a sandy green that has a plastic fence as a retaining wall just off the back fringe. There is NO WAY that I would ever pay over $15 to play here again. Nor would I recommend this course to any of my friends no matter what their skill level is. This course needs a lot of attention, because there are too many other courses in the area that are in much better shape in the same price range.

Great course for the money. I love the $29 all you can play days. I play here at least 2 times a month. The tees, fairways, and greens are usually in good condition. However, most of the courses in the area this past summer suffered from a drought and it took its toll on the course. The pace of play really suffers on the weekend, but it is much better during the week. The course has a lot of elevation changes which make the course more challenging. There are a good variety of dog-leg lefts and rights which can get pretty interesting. The course is open for the most part, with only one hole playing along water. Overall I give this course 4 out of 5 stars, because its typically in good condition and caters to all skills levels.

This course is pretty new to the area, but fits in very well. I play here a couple times a month, due to the fact they have local coupons that make it very cheap to play. Considering that its still maturing as a course the condition has to be overlooked some times. By this I mean they scalp the greens quite often, and the tees are rock hard. There have been a couple times where we couldn't even stand on our tees to put them in the ground. Suffice to say the greens are usually pretty firm as well, but that's not some thing I consider a con. There is a ton of elevation changes on this course, and the layout plays well for both lefties and righties. They took a lot of bunkers out, so it plays a little easier now. Hole three is the only hole on the course that truly makes you play along/over water. However, holes 9 and 18 have water around half the green which can be very challenging due to the fact its generally windy on the course. I would have to say that the 18th would have to be their signature hole. You feel like you're on top of a mountain from which you tee from, which plays into a dog-leg left, with the green surrounded by water and a couple bunkers. Oh and did I mention that most of the greens have at least two tiers? Some even have 3 tiers! Overall I give this course a 4 out 5 because its a great layout and will only get better with time!
