Mooresville Golf Club
Played On 08/25/2017Great course but...
This is truly a great course and you won't find a better course for the money in the surrounding charlotte area. But, 5 hours for a round is absolutely ridiculous. Got to the first tee box and it is backed up 4 groups. Not sure how the first hole is backed up with a starter there. Bkggest issue is people waiting for the group in front of them to get to the green before hitting their drive. The experience would be greatly improved if they had a ranger who actually tracked groups and forced a faster pace of play. I do love this course but often times avoid it simply because I don't have 5 to 5.5 hours to play a round of golf.

Second time playing here. Pace of play was surprisingly great and the course was in amazing condition. Bermuda everywhere. Most importantly, greens were in perfect condition. I didn't experience the off course amenities and don't feel I should say they are great without experiencing them first. Staff was ok.

Really nice course with great greens. Couple of bare spots on the tee boxes but nothing too terrible. I can imagine this course being very nice during the summer as the entire course is bermuda. You have to be accurate off the tee as missing a fairway will, more likely than not, put you in an awkward stance. Played on a very windy sunday which made the 639 yard par 5 18th pretty difficult.
Rock Barn Golf and Spa - Jackson Course
Played On 07/10/2016Too Slow
The course is nice and well maintained and has a difficult layout with a lot of tight fairways and easy to miss greens. I would play it again but the pace of play was way too slow. I left on hole 15 because it was going to be a 5+ hour round and I didn't have time for that with a 30 minute drive back home. They need to get a ranger out there timing people.
Dogwood Trace Golf Course
Played On 03/08/2015Great course for the money
I wasn't expecting much from this course as I drove through the surrounding area; however, I was pleasantly surprised by the layout and condition of the course. We played after a bunch of snow had melted, so it was really wet but you could tell that the course well kept and would be nice during a summer day. The greens are fast, even after all the water. The designer of this course did a lot with the options and although some holes are short, all the par 5s play a decent distance. The front nine is pretty open with room to make mistakes but the back nine is pretty closed off and requires some delicate shots. I really enjoyed it and will definitely be back.
Crossings Golf Club
Played On 05/30/2014Way too slow
Played on Friday at 3 pm and it took 4.5 hours. The course is in good condition and would have been fun but playing that slow is ridiculous. The course needs to do a better job of getting people to pick up their pace of play. I won't play there again because I would rather pay $10 more dollars and play in 3.5 hours than play this course in 4.5
The Royal Virginian Golf Course
Played On 04/20/2014Great course for the money
This course is not going to "WOW" anybody but it is an excellent course for the money. The greens are nice and very fast/firm (I hit a 60* wedge in to a green and it kept rolling). The fairways need to be grown in but are not miserable. The course overall needs some work but has a lot of potential. You must be able to hit every club in your back, especially your driver, as this course plays exceptionally long.
The Club At Viniterra

This is an amazing course. I played on April 18th, so the green grass was still coming in. The course can be challenging and can play long (depending on the tees you play from). Greens are fast and bunkers are well maintained. I would recommend this course to anyone and some holes are right on a vineyard which is pretty cool.
